Drop the Lime got some cool shit on that new album, although some of it borders on odd, for the most part it has me hooked, the production is spot on, and it is actually quite different to anything I have heard before.

Def. check this out.

1st listen i loved it. Then i got it home and played it loud and I was like WTF, is this the same shit i listened to today. It did seem very OTT when i cranked it. But the album has some golden moments, stuff i tend to dig is a bit slower and lighter on the punches after he builds tracks up. But fuk production is great.

Any more details Friday? time they on? playing together? etc.

That was great! While opinions of Drop The Lime may be divided, Kid 606 definitely rocked. DTL said Thursday's set would be different, so I'm tempted to go again tomorrow for a bit before Lounge. Cheers to Grey Son for the lift and MrJ for good company as always.

Left during Kid 606

If I was to go again tomorrow I would sure as hell hope DTL would be playing very different stuff - as in what his original fanbase was hoping

It wasn't terrible, kind of amusing in parts but not as hoped...
cant say im dissapointed, but if id spent good money i would have been

still there was nice syncopation in what he did....

but if i knew he was doing his hyper funked up broken music then I would probably try to go again, or even a set of his munted dubstep/tek stuff

but without knowing... hmmm

Yeah it was interesting for sure!!
DTL really suprised me, wasnt expecting the whole mash up 4x4 style but hey, it was different. KID was ok, my ears are a bit fucked, Special Hegg had the right idea ( EARPLUGS) next time ill remember. Was good to watch dudes thrash Ableton.
All in all a prety good night, good to meet ya Mrj and good to catch up again Hegg and D.....

Oh and a big thanks to the ticket inspector, thats what ya get for goin to a FREE gig, its gotta pan out ya know....

just wish there was more breakcore or dubstep played. ah well
dtl wins the award for dj most into his set.

mute freak's set was up and down, the section where he played donna summer, xian, doormouse etc was cool

i thought what DTL was doing was coming from a good place, really mashed syncopated loop based techno, lots change, some really nice programming.
his energy was awesome if not a little ridiculous
bit disappointed he didnt have the big warm enveloping sub action that i love about his music. aint nothin better than being hugged by a sub woofer.
would have been nice to go out and dance if i wasn't surrounded by all my breakcore lovin friends whinging

kid606 started promising, but track two sucked and his last effort in melbourne was so crap i really wanted to go home in case it happened again

anyway overall good gig, just would have been better in the gershwin room

I liked 606's rendition of hotsteppa, and yeah DTL was a funny fella, i think he's dancing rubbed off on some of the ppeps in the crowd.
