METALHEADZ SESSION II: GOLDIE + MC LOWQUI - 1ST DEC, FRI
METALHEADZ SESSION II: GOLDIE + MC LOWQUI - 1ST DEC, FRI
That’s right - DJ, Producer, Actor and soon to be Director, this larger than life character is one of the most famous figures in the Drum n Bass scene and he’s coming to Melb on Friday 1st December 2006 touring with MC LowQui - all round Mr Nice Guy!!
GOLDIE (Metalheadz, UK)
Establishing the now infamous Metalheadz, label which is still the strongest and most well know Drum n Bass label worldwide, Goldie created an album that went on to sell over 250,000 copies worldwide which remains to this day is what it is titled ‘Timeless’. Goldie is instantly recognisable from his many TV appearances on shows such as Shooting Stars, The Jo Whiley Show, Never Mind The Buzzcocks and Eastenders and film roles in David Bowies gritty northern gangland flick “Everybody Loves The Sunshine†and Guy Ritchie’s classic “Snatchâ€. With his long awaited new album ‘Sine Tempus’ which is the soundtrack to his self Directed Original Screen play, which has been seven years in the making, it looks like the Golden One will be smashing it again this year and no doubt pulling a few surprises out of his hat!
MC LOWQUI (UK)
Touring extensively throughout this year with Goldie and the Metalheadz crew, LowQui has ventured all over the UK and Europe and will cap off the year touring Australia and New Zealand. LowQui has been a regular on the mic now for over a decade and has made his presence felt globally with an intelligent, constantly evolving MC style. With a distinctive, intimate style, LowQui’s lyrical flow has to be seen to be believed while his meaningful delivery has won over the most demanding audiences worldwide. Watch out – and listen up -- for this man in 2006!

Hiiyerrr!!
None of you can possibly be more excited than me – my best girls, my birthday, and a storming party…
Think I’ll sit out of the Tennis this time round though… don’t want to scare you with my skills again…read that any way you like!
On the gig – Boh! Can’t believe you’re doing it for so little ESC – I know Lowqui’s got loads of new lyrics and been writing just for Aus, gonna be a special one!

...I like Goldie.
He was so drunk when I saw him at the Metalheadz night at the Blue Note in London in 1998 but played a scintillating set.
Not such a great guy to interview, tho'.
If anyone's interested, our not-so-comfy interview is online here:

I like him, still.
