Hmmmmm

I don't have any skills per say, but I am more than happy to lend my labour doing just about any task for the low low price of $0

So basically,

- working door stamping hands and taking cash
- being a bussie and helping out,
- manual labour,
- cleaning,
- postering,
- handing out flyers
- what ever.

- would also love to play! :)

I have sponsors and have some idea, but I've never gotten maxi cash out of anyone!

You need a business proposal/PR pack stating who you are and what your about etc.

And you need break downs in costing to justify where the money is going to go!

Something like this shouldnt be too hard

in terms of sourcing sponsorship you need to show numerous things

- your audience. demographic/psychographic. Ie - they must be desireable for the sponsor
- what you will give them - banner placement, logo placement on materials, ticket allocation, time for media etc.
- potential reach of the concept (how many eyeballs will it intercept)
- VALUE of sponsorship (ie - for $5000 we will give you x value) - try and put a dollar value on the offering
- how they can leverage the sponsor to show the market they are a considerate corporate? Most need to be lead on this?
- Suggested tie in's ... what is a corporate that is a good fit for fire/community assistance?

Most sponsorships are just purely BTL media spends and are treated just like media is ... not many corporates will give out dollars for no gain (monetary or marketing)

Also - best idea for something like this is finding sponsors to minimise overheads. IE - a media partner, sound partner, alcohol sponsor, printing sponsor, distribution sponsor ... because even though the sponsor doesn't hand over cash, they minimise overheads hence maximising the potential donation.

Obvious fit are music/urban/fashion types - but at the end of the day they never want to PAY for anything.

Good luck brb!

I can DJ

I can help run certain rooms and/or organise line-ups for each room or even just one room.

If there's a BBQ - I'm happy to don the apron!

DJ, promote, provide contacts for potential sponsors, source prizes for the raffle.

I went to a charity gig a couple of months ago and they had a raffle which was mad - heaps of great prizes, but then they did an auction aswell and everyone went nuts over the auction stuff more than the raffle.

either way - here to help!!

Fuck that's funny. I just saw this thread and thought "Why not have an auction!"
when I saw the raffle idea. We had one for our work Christmas party recently
and it worked pretty well. We could come up with a whole lot of cool
'charity auction' style items such as signed records, posters etc. Reckon it
would do really well.

so are we suggesting an auction of 'things' as well as an art auction??

i estimate i could get from 20 -30 pieces of art work (hopefully)

last time we did an art auction at the melburn stencil festival we made over $4000 for YSAS....(youth substance abuse service)

twas a feckin beautiful thing having the kids watch and come up with tears in their eyes and thank us...

that'd be RAD!

I've hooked up a myspace page too (fireaid was already taken, but I got fireaid07) Once we have a bit of content to add (graphics, press release etc) we can get started on them

concepts for the flyers & posters are being worked on right now, so is the Press Release & sponsorship proposal

will keep ya posted

True.

It does mean you have to update to two places through two different mechanisms though.

Don't know if Melbourne Beats has the ability to link into http://www.ourcommunity.com.au but they can help with stuff like funding tools, how to raise money and access funding, grants funding (but have to be a subscriber - I am a subscriber)... but you can look at all the aspects of fire aid... include environment and conservation, animal, food cloathing, training, education etc. etc. I don't know if your purpose is to raise moneys for the firies, the homeless etc.

I can write grant applications and submissions for funding or sponsorship, but its a matter of finding the right corporate body.... ie: insurance companies might be interested?

Just some more of an idea.
