The best band in the world....

Post by Lindemon »

I'm off to see NOFX tonight, just down the road @ Camberwell..
I'm so excited, I feel 16 again, which is lucky cause it's an all ages show..

YES!

I went to the gig tonight and I fucking loved it. Such a broad mix of songs from their albums, hilarious banter and wild antics from the crowd.

Highlights included the dudes who dived off the speaker stacks into the crowd, Fat Mike & Erik Melvin both trying to pick up a hat to wear whilst playing a song, the fat dude who got a runup to stagedive but then nobody caught him.

I screamed every word to every song they played.

They fuckin rocked, great mix of songs (I would have liked more early stuff, but all ages show..), leaning toward the more recent stuff....
What happen to that dude who jumped off the stack?
Looked like he ate shit...

Glad it rocked, Lindemon. One of my all-time favorites, but I haven't seen them in 7 years. Good to hear they can still rock the house. Tell me they played 'Bob' or at the very least, 'Kill All The White Man'.

Some more is coming back to me now...
Perfect Govt., Scavenger type (a rockin version), Rancid's 'Radio', Bottles to the ground, Idiot son of an asshole, Louise, Dinosaurs, Lioleum, Bob, Brews, She's Nubs, Franco Unamerican, Sticken in my eye, Dropped the world..?

They were just great..

OK, so who is the next "best band in the world" touring soon?

Suicidal Tendencies?
Obituary?...

They said this never appeared on any album they released... without googling, when did this track get released and thru what medium?

It was released as part of the multimedia component included with War on Errorism.

And the next best band in the world to be touring is Unwritten Law.

If Sucidal were to come out again, I would be there with bells on.
Psycho Mike and the boys rocked my world before I even had pubes.
Awesome band.
I've been out of the loop - are they together again?

They're touring????
I've heard nothing about it.

OMFG. Apparantly NOFX played "The Decline" in its entirety at their Sydney show last night, with Lindsay McDougall (their gay Scottish punk mate also known as Leemo) filling in on guitar when Hefe had to play his trombone parts.

20 minute epic...

I love Camberwell.

Best suburb in Melbourne, bar none. All it needs is a good bar...

Best cinema in Melbourne, one of my fave record stores, JB Hi-Fi, lots of nice places to eat and drink coffee, the market kicks ass... nice leafy, spacious suburb in a good location... Just sucks about the $$$ factor...

I don't think you could really put a punk rock band under the name "The best band in the world"... Maybe change it to "IMO The best band in the world" cos no punk rock band is ever going to be "The best band in the world"

Not a fan either.

Not really a fan of the ska-punk stuff, although I do/did like Rancid.
