ah so phasing is baaadd. Actually this guy in my office has what could be called a little phasing machine - it's a mike that he plugs his earphones into into it and it places back the inverted wave of what it is receiving - resulting in silence for him when he has his headphones on. nifty :)

I am interested to know people's techniques for combining the "grimey" part of the bass, and the subbass. Do you just copy n past the grime pattern into the sub track, or do you side chain them so when the grime sounds the bass sounds in proporion, or what? I hope I make sense...
