Re: Side chaining and multiband compression.

apart from the mixing improvements sidechaining can do, you could do other interesting things like sidechain eg a filter on a pad with a snare or something... I haven't actually mucked about with it much though. I have tried to sidechain a ride cymbal with a kick but I couldn't get it to sound as se...

I've written a track today and I want to try it out in a club tonight. I don't want to pay for mastering. What should I do? It makes sense to do a simple master in your home studio so that the sound is at least close to a released track. Use your software to EQ the mixdown, so your track has a simi...

Yep, my own limiter. Club limiters are applied in real time to the mixing signal before it reaches the sound system, and (should) only kick in at the sound system's maximum level, or the set loudness level determined by the audio dude running things there to prevent damage to the speakers and peopl...

Avoid anything with a rotating turntable. I've heard the Denons are good as well, laid out similarly to the Pioneers. Hell, even the Pioneer CDJ200 isn't that far from a CDJ800/1000 except for the size + feel. if the feel is different, mayaswell get another sort? The ones I have been looking aren't...
