The built-in compressor in Live 7 has a brilliant sidechaining function. You just place the compressor as normal (eg. on your pad or bass track), then switch on the sidechaining. I started out using Ableton only for live sets, but got hooked and started producing complete tunes in Ableton.

On the weekend some guys were trying to convince me to switch from FL Studio to Logic. I like FL Studio because I use lots of one-hit samples. Each track might have around 50 drum samples. I also spend a lot of time tweaking each sample seperately (attack/decay/pitch/EQ etc). FL Studio seems to work...
