there are way too many red lights on the DJM 600 I mean half the the whole channel meter is red, what would be the point of that many red lights, surely if it was going to sound terrible or distort then you'd only need a few at the top to warn you. I think it's designed badly for this reason. My ne...

I like it too... I mean that it makes less a calibrated instrument which responds as accurately as any other good mixer should, and more like a fun box or squeegy hammer. and if you are a dj you should know what distortion and clipping is and that you should avoid it rather than running into the red...

Dont have any issues with normalising, its standard for all my mixes... normalising is just amplifying to the point just below clip. I tend to normalise, then find peaks, remove/envelope/compress any overt peaks (record pops or errant snares for eg) then normalise again. re noise floor, its more sig...

I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend the Pioneer DJM 800 mixer, check it out http://www.djmag.com/tech/Pioneer_DJM-800.pdf looks better than bloody old DJM 600 midi is a good feature - and it sounds like effects are better than before (they really were awful to work with before) but still not full cut eq! wha...

We all know how things arent being done properly, but none of us are in the position to prove the venues wrong!! its true dammit... and for the record Brown Alley IMO is better than plenty others. it just frustrates me to see something get in the way, when the pa has more potential. Australia is fu...

Ok I will make this brief and to the point. Its not political or biased, its based on my experince going to look at sound issues there and working in PA land for a while. Brown alley has phase issues with bass. Even moreso in the upstairs room with four sub stacks (last time I was there) With music ...

mp3 encoding in adobe audition / cool edit pro
Hi,
asking for a friend...
my mate is encoding mp3s for his radio show, using audition...
he says he can only encode 32Kbps 11KHz !?
So im wondering for users of the program, where is the option for changing the mp3 encoding setting...
cheers

workshop is. certainly... taking your example, result with revolver or hifi is basically no smoking at all then... unless there was a limited pass out system to say 10 people at once... It would be silly but people dont think about noise when they start a venue. it happens all the time. Well are there circunstances where it seems reasonable to issue pass outs? What do people think about what might be manageable tools to minimise on street noise? Input would be good, im trying to fo...

OK this is an interesting element. How do you control the exit of patrons onto the street? The VCAT decision was interesting in that the member said that when the venue charges a door charge, that there should be no passouts on that occasion. whereas when there is no covercharge then it would probab...

it is that the legislation is now saying that pretty much MOST of the venues in melburn will have to be shut down if they do not modify....to accomodate.. As i indicated earlier, really the only way it can apply retrospecively is through a condition on a liquor license when they are renewed. If the...

I have read the decision a few times. I actually think a lot of it is well structured and thought out. However, what it fails to do is recognise what may be understood to be reasonble amenity impacts given the zoning in which an application occurs. It does indicate that responsible authorities (ie c...
