Re: [noob] hello how are ya?
Cheers guys! Looks like there are lots of good parties going on, is there a big breaks scene there? What parties should I look out for if I like Breaks? I played at Alia for Rock like this when I was over before, which was great. I also went to Revolver on a sunday morning where the music was slower, funkier and more electro sounding.
I've been promoting for 5 years in London, and want to do it in Melbourne as well. Does anyone on here do that? How do you find it?

I see so is it all about electro house then? :edit: the Rennie party looks wicked!
Re: [noob] hello how are ya?
The Rennie party will be awesome!
There are still big breaks parties.. it's just not as big as it used to be.

his new album is sick too, really into it.
is the 2am lockout thing in effect now? how bad is it, or is it like the smoking ban over here where we kind of had to get used to it?

Its not all electro house, but yeh the heat has gone out of the breaks scene.
It's hardly suprising, I can't think of the last time a breaks track really grabbed me. Actually I can, Nikola Grebovic - Altlantis, but that track was more in line with the rolling tech house sound thats been getting around (IMO), of which there is definitley a presence in melbourne and a thriving scene.
Plenty of healthy energy and support in the techno, tech house, minimal scene, plenty enough to offer a great array of parties to not have to resort to attending commerically electro house parties with teenagers.
grumble grumble damn teenagers grumble *shakes walking cane at passers by*

Electro house is too dying a slow death, 'tis all about "nu rave" and "elctro-clash-pop-mashups" these days
breaks parties (this year so far) have been well supported (better than the last few years by a long shot)... Big events have been less frequent though (which is a good thing).

I prefer smaller parties anyway. I gave up on Fabric years ago.
