SECRET MASTERS

Melbourne musicians Pieter Bourke and Donnie Dub (aka Brian Westbrook) got together in 2002 to form the SECRET MASTERS after realising they had a mutual appreciation for the Dubwise sounds that originated in the small Caribbean island of Jamaica. Their first album The Lost Dub Tapes was released in 2004 and is widely regarded as a milestone in Australian Dub.

Without pausing to take a breath the SECRET MASTERS began work on another album, this time traveling to Jamaica with a hard drive full of brand new Riddims. Vocal sessions in Montego Bay and Kingston were arranged and these collaborations form the basis for their new album Words, Power, Sound

AGENCY DUB COLLECTIVE

Agency Dub Collective While still in love with all kinds of groove, from hip-hop to dancehall to drum n bass, Agency Dub Collective have reclaimed their deep roots and continue to tap the vein of dub, always with a synonymously deep lyrical wandering. Haunting grooves dabbed in melodica, no-bullshit rhymes over intense dub and a jamming spirit of spontaneity have increasingly hit marks in good folk at shows. ADC regularly play around Melbourne.

DEEP FRIED DUB

Deep Fried Dub is an electronic duo that consists of two Melbourne based producers Ben Hartley (A.K.A B. Hartless) and Ben Dudding (A.K.A Dr. Benway).

The Deep Fried sound is an eclectic mix of contemporary electronic beats with deep dub stylings that crosses genres as diverse as Dub, Drum and Bass, Dance Hall and Deep Tribal Beats.

Ben and Ben both moved to Melbourne in 2000 along with fellow producer Freq (Aran Gallagher) where they formed the production studio ‘Polygon Labs’.

After playing numerous festivals in New Zealand (such as Caanan Downs Festival, Rippon Festival, Alpine Unity), Deep Fried really started getting recognition in Australia in the last couple of years when they started playing at a number of high profile festivals such as Earth Dance and Rainbow Serpent.

Deep Fried Dub are now working with a number of artists including Vocalist Lotus and are working on a number of remixes for various artists including "the Red Eyes" and "Pitch Black".

TORT TRIBE

Torttribe are a reggae band based in Melbourne playing new reggae the old way. Latest styles being re-invented using live "rock" instruments Guitar, Bass, Drums & Vocals "the old school way". Solid & innovative drumming by Matt Graham, Steady, pulsing bass is supplied by new member Simon Haeusler and creative, funky guitar riffs with lead and exciting guitar solos are dealt by Sam Owen. Singer & Vocalist Daniel Wright is once again blending the old with the new, creating and using his own characteristic melodies, combined with a great emphasis on new rhythmic sounds as a foundation for his own home grown spiritualized lyrics. Torttribe are putting across a new Australian reggae sound & live shows to grip the audience with a big sound, gigs regularly feature special guests and often finish with a crowded stage of musicians. Heavily vibed live performances are matched by Torttribe's new CD "21st Century" a self produced representation pleasing old and new reggae fans alike. Torttribe is getting back to the roots and fusing new styles of reggae for a new generation of reggae fans.
