Although Klute is one of the most melodic and musical producers in drum and bass, his tracks are Klute aka Tom Withers style of drum and bass is strongly influenced by techno. It is deep and progressive, with flavours of house, dub and trance, and frequent use of vocals. Klute remains a unique and creative force in drum & bass, Powerful, musical and emotive, with releases across some of the most respected labels including Metalheadz, Hospital, Shogun, Soul:r and his own Commercial Suicide imprint plus consistent support outside the scene from the likes of DJ Pathaan, Bobby Friction & Nihal, Mary Anne Hobbs and the late, great John Peel.

Out to launch, Music for prophet, his sixth full length album which focuses on the kind of classic sound he does best and making an album with broad appeal, beyond the confines of just the club and kitchen. Music for prophet draws together myriad influences for a fantastic voyage of musical diversity whilst stopping off for cups of tea with the likes of the Beach Boys, Jeff Mills, Giorgio Moroder, John Carpenter, Brian Eno, Claudine Longet, Suburban Knight, Scott Walker, Noise Factory, Lata Mangeshkar, Ben Watt and My Bloody Valentine.

When he’s not busy smashing the shit out of audiences worldwide with his extreme hardcore punk band “The Stupids,” Klute the DJ will be decimating the dancefloor in Melbourne once again.

Great night! Klute killed it as usual. LOADS of fresh tunes and the new album is sounding sick!

Also have to say I thought Fiend played a killer set after Klute and testament to that was the number of people still on the dancefloor after Klute finished. Big up girl!
