Parklife Review

Post by kiss & tell »

- AC Slater was awesome, best of the day!
- Uffie is gorgeous but really just a one shot pony
- Mix Master Mike was ok I guess, his shit kept skating and he played the cheesiest Dubstep
- Soulwax were great with that Krautrock vibe but this isn't 2005 or whatever anymore
- Busy P was fun but the sound on the main stage is atrocious
- Missy Elliot was patchy and miming for the most part and you couldn't hear a thing.
- Classixx were great
- Delorean were a suprise win, very Cut Copy

all in all worth the $0 spent

Groove Armada was amazing- really wanted to see glitch mob but so glad i stayed and watched em coz they put on a hell of a show,
toilet lines and drink prices were ridiculous,
not too many fluro/roided up shirtless muzzah's,

I had a wicked day! took a bottle of vodka in with me so was all good with drinks (prices were ridiculous), no sniffer dogs, weather was amazing, saw 5 minutes of Mix Master Mike's set and no one else all day. Spent most of the day in the Glue tent eating Melon. Ended up at Seven (yeah yeah i know, but a mate was playing) and Missy's DJ turned up to do a set. Absolutely dreadful and a real idiot to boot. Best bit was when his Serato cut out leaving him looking like a mug behind the decks with a load of rank woman not knowing what to do...and his name was...FREESTYLE STEVE :D

Surely, they can't be "win" and "very cut copy".

totally, David fucking Guetta could have been playing a 12 hour set and i would have had a good time still. Never really given a shit about music at festivals. Sounds dreadful a lot of time too. Been to a million festivals in loads of different countries and for the most part i've not found one i enjoy musically, but i always have a sick time.
Favourite one has gotta be hiphopkemp, been three times and its been amazing each time http://www.hiphopkemp.cz/?language=en

Did anyone see Dandy Warhols?

I only noticed they were on the bill last Thursday and I usually ignore Parklife because it's at the Bowl.

One of 3 bands I haven't seen but desperately want to.
Ready to drop, Audio rock, here comes the boy from the South!

Dandy's had a mean task going up against Missy Elliot but ultimately I think they would have been the better option
