It is hard for new djs to get a chance in such a competitive environment. In many ways I think have been lucky that I started to dj Dubstep in its early beginnings and had a chance to play when the first parties were happening in Melbourne.
I get sent mixes daily, and to be honest I don't get around to listening to all of them. I always listen firstly to the ones with a tracklist I am feeling. All of the djs on this lineup sent me a mix with a tracklist I really liked! The bonus was they were also all mixed very well.
I hope all these djs continue to push what they do and eventually start playing out regularly, and get the same opportunities I have had to support some amazing artists. Big ups to all of you!
I hope everyone who is still reading this will come out and support a few of the people that will continue to push bass music forward in Melbourne.
