BU walking away from another serious bike accident relatively unscathed

dude who's path i fell into had the skills to hit the skids just in time, for this i am thankful

i have a broken arm

two stacks on sydney rd this year, both of which could've ended very badly if it weren't for a couple of pieces of quick thinking on the part of the drivers concerned

hahaha I think the opposite of that for a man would be pulling one off in record time with no lube and dry hands. that could sting.

jeebus aeros, glad you are okay, but a broken arm would suck!

bigups Hawky and Gracie on getting married on Saturday!!! Was a great wedding and reception. I reckon i was on the funniest table out, too good, sore stomach by the end from all the laughing. Also met Kat Stewart (chick who played Roberta Williams in Underbelly and is also in Offspring), she is sooo fricken lovely and not an ounce of ego. Her mum was hilarious and loved talking about how proud she was of her girl, well cute :)

So we discovered a whole series of blue and black mountain bike trails in the forest behind our house today. Jumps, switch-backs, rock drops, the works. Can't wait for them to fill in with snow, and snow has been forecast all week w000000000t!!!

BU various deadlines bein' dead.
BU submitting that fucken grant application. Will not haz the cash, but it's still a fact that I have more chance than if I hadn't submitted it at all.
BU very sweet job advertised in London. Ticks many boxes, including not just having to deal with mathematicians.
BU many a domestic accomplishment today. House and car are cleeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnn :D

Wait, who in their right mind rides (or drives for that matter) down Sydney Road?? Bike path along the train track ftw.
aroes wrote:i rode to royal melbourne when it happened and rode home when they let me out
Heh, I did that too. Well, I actually rode to work, left my bike there and walked to the hospital like a gimp in my bike shoes coz I was worried about it getting stolen. Bleeeeeeding all the way :priorities: Shock does special things.

I find that path to be also quite dangerous, especially nearer to Coburg. Too many nooks and crannies for ninja pedestrians to jump out of. That said though, I'd rather stack into a ninja than get poleaxed by another car. I'll consider it

Negative. I've been meaning to do it since my last stack. Thankfully I've managed not to damage anyone else's property, and my bike has amazingly made it through both stacks untouched. I really do love that bike. Will get onto the bv m'ship asap

And lol huge. I don't even own a track bike yet. With my recent luck or lack thereof, I shudder to think what disasters await

:retzielikes: Make sure you report hazardous conditions too - the exact place/circumstances of my stack actually saw some girl killed Image. I think BV finally campaigned to stop the coaches parking there (Swanston St - pedestrians walking out from between coaches, forcing bikes onto the tram tracks.)

Oh, and while we're being cheery - don't forget ambulance membership!

I hear ya. Although all of Sydney Rd is somewhat hazardous, I don't think it's necessary to report anything. TBH the stack I had on Sunday was pretty much a result of my being slightly impatient......car in font of me was attempting to park which gave me two choices- wait behind them til they were finished OR keep hammering it and go around them. I opted for the latter, swung out too far and got stuck in tram tracks. Thank christ the guy coming the other way had enough wits about him to slam the anchors on in time, else I'd have been flattened

And I do have ambo m'ship, your concern is much appreciated :retzielikes:

pissed off at the age and other melbourne coffee culture speak about 'only two blends' - FFS, one i enough if you do it right... its a real wank IMO, there are places where quantity of blends does not equate to great quality or consistency of good coffee, some of the age and MCR top toss spots included
