Gripe thread
I can just imagine the tour starting... the guide is rambling on... and Will's like, "yeah enough about the history of this place - when are we going to get to the spring-loaded shitter?"Ani wrote:I think you are over estimating the power of the spring...Will wrote:What happens when you remove your weight to wipe? The mechanics of this system are flawed.Ani wrote:Silly question Fents! Your weight is enough to hold it down, but when you stand up, it springs back up again, ready for your next number 1... eww.
edit: if you really want to check it out and understand the mechanics of it, they do several tours a day (including weekends) of the mansion- well worth a visit... not just for the toilet (but be sure to ask about it so they don't forget to show you).

gripe to the idiots who tagged our house last night.
'northcote wogz'
seriously what the fuck. they could have at least done something creative, witty or funny
joe went up to the bottle shop at 10.30pm and noticed it. i'd heard a sound on the street about 30 mins early and commented on it but didn't think too much more of it.
next 1.5 hours were spent out there with the paint-stripper and wire brush

gotd: fucking sennheisers. they're meant to be the best, but i've had three pairs over the last few years that have all broken. send off the more expensive ones to be fixed nearly a month ago, phone today to inquire and they can't be repaired. i thought the whole fucking point of them was that they could be repaired? not impressed. pissed off with the company i sent them to as well, and that after 4 weeks of having them they haven't bothered to let me know what's going on.
and 2nd gripe: keep getting calls from those fucking competition lines.

not everyone can justify/afford $350 for headphones dan.
there ARE some good cheaper brands around better than [cheap] senny's imo
i need something fairly small and compact, < $100, quality sound and preferably able to buy in shops.
looked at chemical records a bit, and have been so tempted so many times. just can't justify even $250. i don't produce or anything, so just for PT missions, it doesn't seem worth it. the minute i have the funds however, i will probably be swayed.

if you go 25's though witty, you can replace every component on there, so really, if they do break, you can inexspensively replace a lead, a shell etc etc....
you're looking down the barrel of a 5 - 10 yr relationship with the 25's so - $25 a year for headies pending they don't break or heaven forbid, they go missing or you lose them is a good deal.
The $100 you buy could be great, but you run the risk of something small busting and they're useless...
sorry to rant.....
I just love em

I've had them for years and they are still kicking. The cable has broken twice in that time, but they are only $17 to replace.
Of course I also have the HD25's at home
gwarn witty!!! stick it to us... buy some shit headphones, do it.. It would REALLY get to me.Blaxter wrote:Witty - go to JB Hifi. I got some collapsable ones for less than $20, they have lasted me a year and still rocking. So even if I b ought a set a year that still cheaper than HD25's.
Stick it to the know it all DJ's - shop cheap.

If you want to go down the canalphone path, I can recommend these. The sound quality is great (according to my untrained ears anyway), the isolation makes them good for noisy environments and they are all of $89. I got mine from Headphonic - great, quick service with very helpful follow-upwitty_pseudonym wrote:please recommend.
