Chin up Bo - it happens to the best of us.
I've smashed my car heaps of times, including writing of my best mates skyline that was uninsured.
Best thing that happened is that you're ok!

keep an eye on your body too, a car knock could easily get turned into whiplash or strain etc - logging with TAC is a good idea (they do cover when your at fault?) as even it it shows up like a niggle in a day or two, could become something chronic

Re: Gripe thread
yeah thanks guys, insurance is mega good, you pay and pay and wonder if it will ever be useful, then something like this happens.
i went to doc and all seems okay, just a lump on my head. he said if i had side airbags it actually would have been worse cos they whip your head around if side impacted like that.
everyone on the street, at the wreckers, here, and at work has been so supportive, feels nice that so many people care when things like this happen.

Sometimes something totally FUCKED happens and at the end of it, you can feel almost blessed with the support and care you can get. Shame that those feelings usually come when something bad has gone down. Glad your ok Bo.

Re: Gripe thread
We got some a few weeks ago when we were advised that if a copper wanted too, they could fine us for not having our dogs with a seatbelt. Told a really bad story, which made me freak and get some. Max hated it so much that after 10 min with it on, we pulled over cos he was crying. He had got himself so tangled, it was kinda choking him
Im still not sure of em. I like the idea of the doggies being safe, but not the idea that they can be all twisted up and it hurts!

alot of people give a shit, so i guess you'd better expect alot of opinions
i'm all for trusting how you feel and going from there, but i'd still recommend filing a claim........at the very worst you'll lose a few hours of your time......all about peace of mind innit, afaik they pretty much cover everything as long as it's related to the crash ie- the osteo consultation you mentioned
relax and look after yourself, no doubt a cocktail on the beach will do the trick

Re: Gripe thread
Here ya go Bo;
"How To Claim (www.tac.vic.gov.au)
Step 1 – Call the TAC
To claim support services, you will need to call the TAC on 1300 654 329. A trained TAC staff member will then explain what entitlements you may have and gather the information needed to help you get your claim started. As you only have 12 months to make a claim, the sooner you contact us, the sooner the TAC can start paying for your treatment. You will be advised when a decision has been made about your claim.
Step 2 – Use your claim number
You will be given a claim number. This is your unique number that helps identify your claim with the TAC. Please have this number ready when you call the TAC or attend treatment for your accident injuries.
Step 3 – Check you are eligible before starting new treatment
You should contact the TAC on 1300 654 329 before you start a new type of treatment or service. This is to confirm that you are eligible for the particular service and that the TAC will pay for this. You will be advised if you need to provide any further information.
Step 4 – Arrange Payment
Most of the time, the person who provided the service to you will send the account directly to the TAC. If you are sent a bill, you should send it to the TAC.
If you pay for a service yourself, and want the TAC to repay you, please ensure you keep your receipt, and send it to the TAC when making your claim.
You will need to complete a form to claim the following services when you pay for these yourself"
travel (download the travel expenses form here)
housekeeping or childcare services (download the housekeeping expenses form here); and
pharmacy / chemist items (download the pharmacy / chemist expenses form here)
The TAC pays for support services by electronic funds transfer. It is important that you provide your bank account details to enable prompt payment.
If your service provider bills the TAC directly, you do not need to complete an expenses claim form.
Please note, you have two years from the date you received a service or treatment to claim payment from the TAC.
Even if you just call them and record the incident, and see what happens afterwards. Youd hate it to come up later on, but you dont get to claim cos you didnt notify in the right time frame.

why are you using XP???
1) get windows 7
2) if you must use XP, I have a working, bare-bones, stripped-down version if you need it.

because XP is still the best Windows OS for audio in my experience. Trust me I have Windows 7 and its slow, CPU hungry and clunky IMO. Have you found differently?deviant wrote:why are you using XP???

thanks for the offer my XP copy is good, its just I have machine partitioned and dual booted with 7 anyway and the bootrec was playing up when I was installing.
