Haven't played it, but in general the control systems for rts games on consoles can be a bit difficult (compared to mouse and keyboard)...

bought myself an XBox yesterday!

quick question: I want to have the sound running through my amp/speakers & not the TV. If I use a HDMI cable for the vision & then plug the Red & White RCA's into my amp will that work?

I only have the lead that came with it and all three RCA's are bound together & can't be split up

yes it will.

I do the same to plug the HDMI into my mixer, and then run through that into my monitors.

will work fine.

Picked up Bayonetta this week. It's pretty mental, it's basically Devil May Cry on angel dust. Story is confusing as fark (though it doesn't really matter) and there's a bit of a learning curve, but it looks stunning and the action is superb. The combat system is fantastic and just feels great to play. A million different power ups and techniques to obtain, should keep me going for a while.

finally (due to new tv) got my ps3 up and in use again (didn't use it for like 6mths cos cbf using with pc monitor and tv was standard def)

got uncharted2 and loving it.

ive seen FF13 is in EB for preOrder now, tempted but $120! prob go ebay
only other game i want is also yet to be released, MAG - 64player online etc
will have to get a good wireless headset for it, im thinking 7.1 gaming styles. anyone got any suggestions?
Razer have a pretty sweet usb one but aparrently doesn't work with ps3 (no drivers) so might have to get the sony bluetooth headset/mic thing plus a separate wireless headset with optical audio in on the dock.

1more thing; not sure whther to get fifa10 or not prob not worth it 09s still fine for the odd game and there might be a worldcup special ed one anyway?

In other news I need some help with something. I've got a customer with an Asus netbook who's win xp died and won't boot. None of the bootloader options work. I can boot to recovery partition but if I proceed with that it will wipe the drive. The lady has some photos on there of her new baby and doesn't want to lose them.
Of course this stupid thing doesn't have a cd drive so I've been trying to find some files to create a bootable USB so I can boot into DOS or something to copy the files. I've tried a couple of different options I found on the web but none of the ones I tried seem to work so far.. Anyone have something they can suggest I use?

I spent 3 days on the xbox playing the following

Guitar Hero II-V
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon 2
GTA IV
Heroes Over Europe

It was nice to get my nerd on again. I'm fairly decent on GH now...finally!

Now the question is should I buy an xbox 360 and become a hermit?

Considering that Mass Effect 2 is coming at the end of the month. Then Bioshock 2 next month. Then Battlefield: Bad Company 2 in March.

i got a Bannco Fragnstein, fraggn awesome! Not quite the same as mouse/kb on a pc, but way better than ps3 ds3 control and i can just kick back on the couch with the feet up and a mousepad on my ottoman :P

only tested it with uncharted2 last night online, was getting kills way easier, felt more natural and fun.
jeez uncharted2 is the BEST game i've ever played by far, single player rocks and multiplayer is good fun although lag due to playing with yanks is annoying.

next to test with bioshock 1 which i'm playing through before i get bioshock2 bcos i never did. anyone got 2? thoughts?

also trying to decide whether to get COD4:Mw2 or just wait for bad company2...meant to be nuts

overall enjoying console gaming way more than i ever did pc gaming. all the nerding out on specs and gfx cards and constantly spending $ to upgrade just to get a decent framerate is absolute bollocks

Hope someone has some answers cause this puzzle is shitting me off big time.

I used to have Nero 7 Essentials on my putie, and it worked perfectly burning from DVD Shrink. Now that I've loaded Nero 9 (offically purchased software), when it comes time to select where the image will go it no longer gives me the option to burn to Nero, and in fact it say "if you want to burn with Nero, please load it" :smt017

Checked all the options and clicked "enable burning with Nero" but no joy. Does anyone hav any hints for me?

i'd get it but will take me all year to get thru ff13 (due to lack of time to play)
and i kinda wanna get GoW1+2 first (there's a ps3 remastered pack of them you can get for like $40 on ebay), but again there's the time to play em, it'd be 2012 by the time i got to GoW3
