Re: Michael Jackson dead?
the hospital has not confirmed it, nor has his family AFAIK
"TMZ has spoken to a family member who said Jackson was in "really bad shape""
speculative at best.
Its more like lets get hits on our website by lying!

Re: RIP Michael Jackson
Truly one of the worlds greatest ever entertainers.
I'll say he peaked in the 80's, and leave it at that - as I hope he's remembered for the amazing tunes, dancing and inspiring performances he gave to the world.
R.I.P. MJ.

I wanted to be a hero. I wanted to be the center of attention. I wanted the glory, I wanted the fame. I wanted the pretty girls to come up and say, "Hi, I see that you're good at Centipede."

Re: RIP Michael Jackson
hang on a minute...........was he ever actually found guilty?
Re: RIP Michael Jackson
It wasn't proven dude, unless I'm mistaken.
Re: RIP Michael Jackson
Poor bloke had an absolutely fucked up childhood... his whole Peter Pan syndrome is undestandable... BUT, he wasn't convicted of being a "kiddie fiddler" as you so nicely put it Al - so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt on that one unless proven otherwise.
Re: RIP Michael Jackson
OJ wasn't convicted of murder either
Re: RIP Michael Jackson
oh right, definitely a kiddie fiddler then

Re: RIP Michael Jackson
i am actually really sad.
He was an amazing man and made some music that we loved, and is prolly going to be listened to by our grandchildren.
and im sad that he was such a tortured soul, and no matter how freaky and strange he did get, he inspired more pity than anything in me, he was a man who was never really happy in his skin (no pun intended) and the media certainly didnt help him
RIP mikey.

Re: RIP Michael Jackson
Still cannot believe it.
I as so obsessed with him when I was a kid. History was my first tape and I think it broke I played it so much. What an artist. Truly changed the face of music (no pun intended).
And right before he was meant to tour for the last time too.
Rest In Peace...what a legacy you'll leave.

Farah Fawcet has also died - and there are rumors that Jeff Goldblum has died from a fall while filming in NZ.

Cool mofo when he was black but for me, musically dead for a long time, so I can't say I'm too fussed.

Re: RIP Michael Jackson
The Jeff Goldblum thing has just been reported as a hoax. He's alive.
Re: RIP Michael Jackson
TBH, I think most of what was good musically was down to Quincy Jones and other collaborators like Eddie Van Halen, Jennifer Batten, Steve Stevens an Slash to name a few.
I don't think Dirty Diana would be anythign without that wicked cock rock guitar squealing and the production of the music. My 2 cents.

Re: RIP Michael Jackson
Rest in Peace MJ.
I for one dont think he was a kiddie fiddler just very very strange. His father screwed him up well good during the Jackson 5 era while he was carrying his talentless brothers.
I think the US cannot really handle eccentricness (true weirdness not Lohan/Spears shite) unless he is a card-carrying Republican, and labelled him a pedofile. I think he never grew up, could only relate to kids, and was never truly aware of his sexuality. I mean look at that Debbie chick. Turkey baster IMO.
But shit some of that early music was sooooooo good. Billie Jean, Smooth Crimminal, etc and I wished I could dance a tenth as well as he could.
I hope his musical legacy outlasts his notoriety in the long run.

Re: RIP Michael Jackson
Have listened to Quincy talk about the creative process with MJ, and yes, QJ deserves credit for being the builder, but MJ was his inspiration for the tunes as well. In one interview he talks about how a good idea became an amazing pop song with Michael because of the moment, the inspiration and the perfectionist in MJ that was brought into each and every studio session.Blaxter wrote:TBH, I think most of what was good musically was down to Quincy Jones and other collaborators like Eddie Van Halen, Jennifer Batten, Steve Stevens an Slash to name a few.

There is no denying that he was one of, if not the greatest, performer of the last 50 years. There was no seperating his stage self to his real self, he was 'celebrity', a product of and a subject to. Even in his worst moments he was entertaining us, in one way or another. And in his best moments, no one could match him.
Hope he finds a quite place to rest now with out any cameras.
