maybe it should be called the over 20s crowd

i'm only 25 and i can remember all the stuff people are ranting about.....flatlands, timezone, bulging bags of mixed lollies, taping your favourite tunes off the radio

maybe the only difference about being over 30 is that you turn into a whinging khunt

awaits ban
Yep - that is the sound of one of 'them' alright. Born with a silver spoon in his hand. Mobile phone in hand, computer at home as a kid.
Thinking they are better than every other generation - god's gift and all.
You can tell them a mile off. Friggin kids. :retzielikes:
Total rubbish!

The only computer we had at home when I was a kid was an Amstrad 286 my aunt gave us out of pity

I didn't own a mobile phone til I'd moved out of home at 17, which was in 2002......I BET you had a mobile phone before 2002

Good post though, dad joke ftw
Again - typical reaction of an under 30. All defensive and what not. ;)

If you were hooking up with someone you made a time, usaully the night before, and you stuck to it. You had to wait at the Clocks until the mother fuker turned up - if they were late, or the train was cancelled, or if the bailed with the hot chick from the country, of if the deal fell through - you got stood the fuk up and ended up at megazone by YOSELF - chump.

ahhh the Clocks. i waited for two hours for a mate once. she was always late, and i knew she wouldn't stand me up cos she was my bestie, but yeah two fuckin hours.

Oh God I fit into this category now

Add all that along with growing up in a town of 6000 where:

You had to work from the day you first learned to ride a motorbike/tractor/cow for $2 a day (actually work - not just turn up and pretend)

Commodore 64 tapes used to take 30mins to load .. Pedro... Frogger!!!!

HIGHLIGHTS however.. that the younguns will never experience:

Passion Pop was $2 buck chuck!

Jack Daniels was cheaper than Jim Beam!

B & S Balls

Fighting one on one with fists/hands/shoes!

50c worth of chips/chicken salt & gravy equivalent to $2 now

Smokes were under $5

Fake ID was much easier to produce!

SPRINKLERS & SLIPPERY SLIDES (or sprinklers under the trampoline)

Schools not being fenced in like an animal enclosure.

Waiting 1 week for your photos to develop & the excitement when they arrived.

Pen pals (hand written, thoughtful, colourful letters with photos inside.)

I would hate to be a kid growing up today TBH.

we used to ride cows when we were bored horse kids wanting to cause trouble.

well, youd sneak up on them when they were asleep and just vault on, and count how long you could stay on.

they are big.

We used to ride our goats!! Cept we had one that thought he was a bucking bronco or something, so we'd put my lil sister on him. send her off down the hill having to hang on to this goat that was doing its darndest to get her off him.

ah country living, so much more wholesome family tormenting fun

Love this thread.

I never thought it would get to this when I was young, I'll party til I'm like 50, then as you get old you realise hangovers are evil, evil things and get worse every time you go out partying.

Now I'm a jaded chin stroker. I used to laugh at the chin strokers at Scu Bar thinknig why werent they running round the club having fun now when I go to a club, I'm one of those fuckers...

Like Shep said that having more life experiences and higher disposable income is cool, more responsibilities is not. Add that to the status quo of hitting 30 then married/mortgage/kids means its a very confusing time. Fuck it, I'll just get drunk, act like a retard when I wanna and hopefully work it all out on the fly whilst reminising about 50cents worth of chips with chicken salt being a 3 course meal, using the home phone to call people and communicate with peopel face to face to find out what is going on without Facebook.

On a side note, I sell car finance and did finance for a kid born in 1992 the other day and flipped me out. I was like you are too young to be buying a car you lil tight jean wearing arrogant lil butt muncher but what do you do.
