Hello winter. Aren't you just lovely today!
I don't mind that you froze my hands, as long as you stay sunny and delicious like this for a few months, we can get along juuuust fine.

quick wrote:what is weather?
Weather is the state of the atmosphere, to the degree that it is hot or cold, wet or dry, calm or stormy, clear or cloudy. Most weather phenomena occur in the troposphere, just below the stratosphere. Weather refers, generally, to day-to-day temperature and precipitation activity, whereas climate is the term for the average atmospheric conditions over longer periods of time. When used without qualification, "weather" is understood to be the weather of Earth.

so i got sidetracked tonight and have been googling melbourne weather trends. these are all from different days on the last 3 months.
VICTORIA is set to shiver through the night as an Antarctic blast ushers in one of the coldest June days in 18 years.
The coldest night was the 10th when Coldstream recorded -1.0 °C, Viewbank recorded their lowest May temperature on record on the same night.
Melbourne and Sydney are shivering through one of the coldest winter days in several years, with a high pressure system causing the temperature to plummet.
Last night was Sydney's coldest June night since 1983, with the mercury dropping down to 4.7C in the centre of the city and -3.8C in the western suburbs. And today Melbourne was the coldest it has been since 2008, with the wind chill factor making it seem cooler still.
wtf guys? global freezing more like it.

I haven't been outside yet but looking at the wind chart for today, its probably just smog as its been sub 5 knots all day and not in any particular direction. Looks like a seabreeze kicked in about 1pm and the wind direction was straight southerly and it almost got up to 10 knots.

oh right, so according to this, its actually a fog, and yeah, probably a sea fog brought in by that southerly at around 1

Was eerie watching it roll in during mid arvo while it was still sunny and quite warm. Never seen anything like it

Just went and scoped it from a rooftop 20 storeys above town near spencer st. Can normally see everything for miles from that spot. Tonight we could barely see 40 metres. Totally awesome

possibly better and quicker to just open your browser and head to bom.gov.au????

more data etc......looked at reviews for a few different android ones, all free but tbh better to just go straight to the source as the apps all require a web connection anyway

i luv the bom radar. live by it, die by it
