thanks guys

don't have time to make minty before I go (if ordering parts etc) but like the idea. the prob with the duracell one is i'll only get one charge, and this is for keeping kid entertained on flight to china (maybe 2-3 charges needed!!)

waas thinking more like this:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/AA-Battery-Emerg ... 1514wt_968

or this:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/AA-Battery-Emerg ... 4114wt_913

which is like the minty but with 3rd world labour

but thinking there must be cellphone accessory type stores (I haven't seen them walkiing the city though) who would stock this sort of crap in Melbourne??

my iphone 3G is telling me that my SIM card is not installed and I got no service even though it is installed.

I tried taping the SIM card, cleaning it, taking it out to dinner and still nothing. any ideas?

Got an iphone, and can't believe how bad the reception is. My Nokia got reception everywhere except inside a lift, and the iphone is struggling inside buildings. Kinda fucked considering the price.

wait

iphone 4 is magic, it really is.. but seriously, the reception is terrible. Never really had a problem with voice, but 3G browsing is for the most part slower than the 3Gs imo... especially in buildings and/or out of the central areas.

delete all the apps you don't really use... do a full back up and restore (there's instructions on how to do this via googling). This should vastly improve the performance of an iPhone 3...

also, stop looking and playing with iPhone4s. this will also improve the performance of your iphone 3 hahah

Does anyone know if you can change from one iTunes library (on a mac) to a different one (on a PC)???

I'm scared I'm going to lose everything if I do... not fussed about music etc as It's all on a networked drive at home... but do your apps, podcast subscriptions, texts, contacts and everything else just get moved over to the other computer?

Re: iPhone.. zomg

easy lads.

I've done it from PC to MAC.. I assume this will work for the other way around (and from MAC to MAC and PC to another PC and so on and so forth).

it's something discussed on a LOT of forums.. BUT .. no-one knows how to ..

1) Back up your itunes library to DVD (on the mac) (File, Library, back up to disc)

2) Restore the itunes library on the new machine (the pc in this case)

3) DON'T change anythign on the iPhone while youre doing tha above steps..

4) Plus in the iphone and hit Sync.

5) This is ANNOYING.. You need to create your playlists again and sync that. This will remove all the music from your machine, then re-add it in the new playlist (end result is the same music will be on your machine)

6) Apps will all be removed, but then re-added.

Any questions .. let me know :)

Total restore: When phone is on - Hold top button and screen button on your iphone.
Wait for it to turn off and back on before releasing either button - should be about 33 seconds.
It will want i-tunes and to be restored.
Good way to start again if phone is cacking it and you have everything backed up.

Brought a 3G back to life via this method that I thought was long gone.

bring back Nokia, all is forgiven. I only use mine to make calls anyway.

Same. Need to upgrade asap or else i fear i may throw it off the top of a high rise building. Everything takes so long but for some reason NBA Jam still works fine which is good haha.

Got the leaked Gingerbread on my Garaxy S. Bit of a fuck around installing it and getting data to work but well worth it - fast and much sleeker looking..!
