scholzy: get a new keyboard (not the music one, the computer type). the apple pro keyboard will utterly rape your hands, trust.

(i used to type on one all the time; after a while i lost feeling in the three outer fingers on both hands after 10min of typing, the rsi still lingers quite badly. switching to another keyboard showed _immediate_ improvement.)

It's the Traveler. I bought it so I could work when i'm on tour and then a month later they bring out the ultralite!? Bastards! It's smaller and tougher and perfect for touring - BUT I am happy with the traveler. I use all the ins and outs every day in my studio.

I bought the Ti because I loved my C and really wanted to integrate it better with my DAW. Sonar isn't supported at the moment though so I can't bounce audio like I though I would but it has a digital out so it's not a major problem. The vst part is still a little buggy but hopefully that will be addressed soon. Access are pretty good about supporting their products and release regular updates.

All in all, yeah I like the Ti a lot. I just wish it did everything it said on the tin now and didn't have to wait. I think if you run cubase / ableton etc you'd have no issues with it.

cool about the TI.

Its funny you mention the Traveller - Ultar lite debacle

I got stung exactly the same, tho i didnt buy the traveller for touring as such - but yeah within months they brought out the ultralit for people, who didnt need the extras on the traveller - which was me!

so yeah i feel ya pain man! and the difference bewteen the two in cost was quite substantial, enuff for another piece of kit i would say :(

ahh well ...

LuKo wrote:and A1studmuffin what are your monitors resting on?
Ohh, very professional solution here... I wanted them roughly at ear height pointing directly at me, so I've literally taken the polystyrene packaging each monitor came in and wrapped it in a black pillowcase, then rested the monitors on that. They weren't quite high enough, so to point them up towards me a little bit, I've propped the front of them up on Computer Music and Future Music DVD cases.

That's a free tip guys. :D
A1: what are your thoughts on the M1520's you've got?
So far I've been pretty happy with them. They've got settings on the back to let you boost/cut the bass/treble depending on how your room is setup (as you can see mine are right against a wall so I've turned the bass boost down a notch), and I've been able to get some pretty decent results with them. The one downside (which I knew about before I bought them) was the fact that they only go down to 56Hz. I'm having to use analysers to really judge the levels of my bass properly, which blows a bit. In hindsight, I think I should have gone with the Alesis M1 MKIIs instead, considering the price difference isn't that great (although they do appear to be quite a bit larger and I'm struggling for space as it is). I'll probably sell them when I leave the UK next year and pick up some M1 MKIIs when I get back. If for some reason I win the lottery, I'll get some Mackie 824s, but for now Alesis will have to do the job. :D

the Arp was a steal A1!

i paid 900 Australian, and got off an old english dude out in the burbs

i originally went to buy the juno off him, thru ebay, and noticed he had the arp and other assorted goodies

my housemate at the time had just bought an Odysessy MK1 , the white face original model - which is really rare i believe... so i sorta knew they werent easiy to come by

asked the dude if i could buy it - he said yep,- i went back 1 mnonth later, completely broke the bank buying it but didnt wanna let it slip to somone else ( i ate noodles for weeks!)

funny thing was i - looking back i got stung by him on the JUno (Paid 600 - totally not worth it they sell for 400 ish now)

BUT i went back and raped him on the arp...you wont find one in as good condition as this for 900 if at all, its almost mint
