mega nice!!!
I thought when I saw the thread title.... someone trying to make music into a competition again... But I have been pleasantly surprised. Lovin the idea. I'd love to put up a mix, unfortunately the only one I have that I'm happy with is almost 18 months old, doesn't give an acurate representation of what I do now.
A new one is gunna take some time because I have some monumental ideas that I'm just not gunna be able to pull off one after the other at this stage. Maybe a self-comprimise is in order
Anyway,
I'd love to hear all mentioned with their best.

Hurry up Hugh, I wanna hear your IDM mix...
would love to hear a new mix from On Tour, Sean, System, Spherix.
I would love to do a 98 Tek Step mix, just got to get off me arse
I have never fukd with a mix in a sound editor prog, and I've never repeated a mix, every mix I've done is a pure one off.

I kissed a squirrel and I liked it... taste of her acorn chapstick
Ide like to hear:
what on tour would piece together for us on MB
ide like to see Shadowgames get some further exposure for his mixes that he has busted out lately
Cammo needs to post one up as the last mix of his i got was pretty sweet & diverse (respect for the originality)
i think its about time Kallous got off his ass and posted one
Quick, because u know i dig ur styles mate, and we have to spread the werd of the neuronerd
and last but not least Livewire because he is seriously one of melbournes most underated artist and is a perfectionist with his mixes.

Kammo because i'm still loving my french hip hop tape that he gave me in 2000 and i want to hear more grime from the man who knows grime.
Zero Hour because even though i've never met him, his tunes of the day and top tens are always quality in my book.
Keir because he's a proper badman!!
Lynt because hes a really really good DJ. Nuff said.

every mix i do is in one hit. no after effects, couple of fuck ups. record straight in da comps and straight to cd. no bullshit 4 track shitFents wrote:Just a question...
Who here records mix's in one hit? WITHOUT fucking with it after in soundforge or trying to join tracks back up cause you've train wrecked one.
Thoughts?
Personally i'd rather hear a couple of clangs or level drops and know its someone REAL on the end of the mix and not Andy C.
ficks u still gonna host that mix?
fuck after i mow the lawn im gonna do a couple of mixes. hype hype

THis week on the decks, a local boy. First name Ben, last name Hibbert - he's a law student during day, but don't expect any dusty beats from 10:15. Deep basslines, tight drums, and the occasional sneaky treat.10.15 wrote:Outstanding idea Karl, big big ups mate

Thats what I'm talking about. Except you didn't call me 'a very special treat for our listeners'...jbs wrote:THis week on the decks, a local boy. If you spin an awesome bedroom set and no one is around to hear it, did you still spin an awesome bedroom set?

Was speaking to a few MB.C'ers on the weekend about this, a concern was the whole voting to get people to do it..
I think after we tally this list, the person with most votes goes first, then after that, we randomly pick other MB.C members who've been listed for the next mix, and so forth.
Thoughts?

Fantastic idea Lynt, quality stuff.
From a breaks perspective I'd like to hear sets from the guys you don't hear while out and about. JBS & 10.15 would interest me the most based on their track selection. I would also love to hear an atmospheric breakbeat set from Lucas and more minimal from Lynt.
From a dnb perspective I'd like to hear sets from most of the MB heads as I don't catch anywhere near as much dnb as breaks. Those that interest me would be on tour, seven, AO, dust, quick, TICKA, valuetime, fents and fickuss.
The tally suggestion seems to be the best option...

would suggest talking to Derrick Dennis or Dean Millson or pretty much any of the crew over at Tranzfusion.net as they have done the whole APRA thing to hell and back and apparently found someway around it.lynt wrote:Next question, should we worry about APRA? Seeing it's a digital distribution, we should be ok yeah? Or because it's tied in with this website, will we see problems?
Friday?
Am pretty sure that it had something to do with that only a portion of the mixes were available at any one time and that the available ones changed each time you refreshed the browser.
If you PM MB user Miss Bee I expect she will know a fair bit!
