Aotearoa............ jah bless!
OK.. time to share some kiwi pride
There are a couple of dope NZ bands heading out way soon. This is a fiwi duty-call to let you all know....
Fat Freddy's Drop & Shapeshifter
Thur 27 Oct @ The Prince $33 +bf
supported by Kano & Ennio Styles
The Black Seeds & guests
Thur 10 Nov @ The Prince $25 +bf
Both have seriously lush albums out now.........
Fat Freddy's Drop album Based on a True Story shipped GOLD on the first day of release, and PLATINUM by the second week (NZ).
The Black Seeds are here to promote their album On The Sun. Their sound is more dancehall, big band unlike FFD who have a lyrical/horns dub style.
Shapeshifter have a new album due for release shortly, so we are sure to be treated to fresh new cuts on the night.

while were on the trip..... here's some news:
Rhythm & Vines Festival - SOLD OUT IN HOUR & HALF
NZ's premier NYE event has completely sold out within an hour and a half.
A second wave of 4000 tickets for Gisborne’s Rhythm and Vines Festival was released at 9am this morning (Friday) and by 10.30am all were gone. It takes total ticket sales to 10,000.
People camped the night outside ticket outlets to ensure they got the coveted tickets – some of which are changing hands for treble the price on Trade Me.
Line up so far
Kora, Cornerstone Roots, WBC, The Black Seeds, with new acts Shapeshifter, Fat Freddy’s Drop, Pitch Black, The Taliband and DDUB
