Anyone in Thailand over Xmas and New Years?

Post by mr lob »

Just wondering if any of you Melbourne Beats heads are lucky enough to be on holidays and are cashed up enough and heading for Thailand over the summer?

I've been invited to play 6 gigs over this period and thought why not let you know so you can come check out da funk and breaks Thai style!!

Dates below, come along Melbourne Massive...

anyone in bangkok should check out Bed Supperclub, Club Astra and Cafe De Mok. fully into the breaks, dub, dnb and hip hop.

Each of them got a website or do a search for the bangkok recorder website, they've got a listing of all the best bars n clubs in Bangkok.

If you are heading up north to Chiang Mai hit Warm Up Cafe and Lounge and BeBop in Pai.

Down south is where you gonna get all the trance and multi coloured pants wearing brigade!

Enjoy

Hi Flippo,

been going to Thailand for years now and this is my third trip to dj. Each time I seem to meet more people and get into better venues, more money etc.

Mostly it has been through people I know who own bars and clubs but on the last trip when I was playing up north I met some promoters from Bangkok, who approached me and asked if I would come to Bangkok to play.

So I went down there and it was a huge night, so they basically invited me back this year and have put a mini tour together.

So hopefully out of this one will grow some more shows next year.

Cheers for the interest mate!

we played 3 nights at Qbar Bangkok was really solid.

this is teh best site for bangkok clubbing.

www.bangkokspin.com

although they have constant urine checks from the police in the clubs and close at 12 am - 1 am and its very very strict so be warned - arrive by 8 if you want even close to 4 hours in the joint ;)

Word, QBar got raided the night after we played there last year. Sketchy.

I don't reckon anyone with an aussie passport would wanna be doing anything to dodgy in Thailand anyway.

yeah QBar is unfortunately on the police radar in bangers but astra is new and as far as I am told by local friends no probs there yet to speak of.

chiang mai is much more chilled and you always no of a police raid before it happens as my mates own the best club in chiang mai and hence know the right 'police'!

QBar does go off though.

My favourite is still Bed Supperclub for pure lushness and the best looking women in the world!

Bring it on, doing 2 sets at astra now, one in the main room and one in the bar!
