i got a phone call today from a promoter i do a lot of gigs for saying he had a mix from a dj that he wanted me to check out as he was a little suspicious of the dj and didnt think he'd done it...
mainly because the track list was EXACTLY track for track the same as one of mine that is hosted online....
anyway we checked it out and played the mix's back and he had blatently downloaded one of mine and put it out as his own.
the promotor rang up to ask how he did one of the tricks (100% pitch with master tempo on) when he only has turntables, the dj claimed this is part of the original track (which is also not available on vinyl but we still have that card to play)
in a way i'm flatterd that someone liked my mix enough to use it as their own, BUT at the same time i'm angry that people are potentialy making money and getting gigs off my back..
so beware any mix theives you just might get caught out...
It ends up they've booked him for an early slot friday. Would love to be a fly on the wall when they ask him about the demo mix.
That is farkin ridiculous... settin himself up for serious pwnage!!

There's a guy on nubreaks who posted a mix and told everyone the tracks were his own production..
He'd just made a mix and renamed the tracks from other artists.
And not obscure tracks either.. plumps, stantons.. etc.
