Little Britain
I watched the first season for the first time last night on DVD... mildly amusing, not the funniest britcom I've seen (Spaced ownz Little Britain)
BUT
The Scottish skits are hilarious!
"If you were to ask me on a Monday, I would say....... Yiiieassss"
"If you were to ask me on a Tuesday, I would say....... Yiiieassss"
"If you were to ask me on a Wednesday, I would say....... Yiiieassss"
btw: Vulva from Spaced is one half of Little Britain, maybe I just stated the obvious

whilst little britain is indeed great.
nothing could ever match the league of gentlemen.
how can one show be so fucking amazing? everything from the writing to the cinematography to the acting is pure brilliance.
on a related note two of the l.o.g. guys helped write little britain and the director of that also directed little britain.

Anyone catch Nighty Night last night on ABC?
Yet another obscure BBC comedy
It looked the goods mainly due to it featuring a few of the people that worked on the wicked sketch comedy show Big Train back in the day. Half of them went on to do the series Spaced and I was wondering what this half had been up to.
I was sadly dissapointed. It seems comedy shows like this one and Little Britain think that pushing the boundaries of obscurity is good for comedy. Unfortunately unless you know how to pull it off, you may just make your show incredibly unfunny.

Little Britian is patchy, IMO. Sometimes it can be really really funny, but other times, doesn't seem to work. Not as genius as League of Gentlemen.
Hated Coupling with a passion. That show never made me laugh once, and I always used to have it on as it lead into repeats of The Office which I didn't want to miss.
Dead Ringers can be pretty funny when you know who it is they're impersonating. That guy who does Tony Blair (concerned forhead, trustworthy hands) is sooo good.
My favourites were Spaced and Black Books.

For a really short while back in the day Big Train was programmed just before or after some REALLY weird playdough dog show called 'Rex the Runt'. Does any one remember it and know how many were made/where I might find them? I only saw about 3 of them, but I haven't laughed so hard as that in a long timeTimmyG wrote:Anyone catch Nighty Night last night on ABC?

I took it upon myself to answer my own questions.Stray wrote:Second series no Scottish guy!! What is with that??
So is there going to be a season 3?? please?
Yes series 3 is being filmed now and will air in the UK in their autumn.
The reason the scottish guy was not in series 2 was due to their small budget and the fact the scottish set cost them 6000 pounds.
But.. no series 4.
