i know a few others must have gone.

what were your thoughts?

stupid amounts of very strange people.

prodigy were wicked. amazing in Rod Laver. absolutely rammed. mad lighting.

photek played some cool tunes. sound (once it got going) was slick as.

Hyper played a good set, but yeah, the crowd was weak as...would have really liked to get a full two hours out of him, but them's the breaks, yet still enjoyed myself. I did manage to score a cheap VIP ticket afterall so I wasn't complaining. Prodigy rocked the house, that arena was positively reaming with people. Dave Seaman played some beautiful prog, and that's pretty much all I caught.

Oh, and an aside, whilst in Rod Laver waiting for Prodigy I had the (mis)fortune of listening to Grant Smillie. The dude can not mix for shit, I was completely and utterly gobsmacked by how many of the Von Dutch elite were just lapping that shit up. Please, do not allow that man to ever get infront of a pair of turntables again  .

 Ha. I used to work in the same building as that dude. Never did understand why he was such a superstar DJ in Melbourne. Seemed like a bit of an over-glorified disk changer and that's about it. Nice guy though.

I saw Keith from the Prodigy at the motor show today. I said out loud to myself 'Hey thats Keith form the Prodigy' and his entourage turned to me and gave me an evil glare. That was kinda weird. He is well known!?! :?

Whatever.

Grant Smillie, never heard of him...does he play mind-numbing House or something?

Channel 9 was losing it last night about Two Tribes.

"All night rave, 2 overdoeses, 49 arrests... police and ambulance praise organisers on a successful year"

um

2 overdoses and 49 arrests... successful? I don't really care, but for parents hearing that 2 overdoses and 49 arrests are successful, it doesnt really give TT a good name. What are you thinking Channel 9?

I thought it was a really average event. The music was very very average all night in pretty much every room. The Prodigy rocked it and the show was well worth being at TT, but I wouldnt expect anything less from a band that has toured for weeks coming up to this event. The most dissapointing act that i saw was prolly Armand Van Helden. Those who saw his set from start to finish would prolly agree with me.

Punters were throwing up everywhere - Its probably the most vomit i've seen at a party since ive started going out. And the music had to be constantly turned down cos there were complaints of it being too loud streaming in.

I had a good night tho....company was good all night and the highlight for me all night were the cool lasers in the Hardware room.

i think that there were heaps of overdoses last year, so it was an improvement, or something.

i think they're trying to big up the raves code of practice the state govt rushed through last year after two tribes.

massive invasion of privacy, if you ask me (inspection of bags, etc). still, there's no other ways to combat massive drug use.

It bugs me heaps. Big parties are now getting out there on mainstream media, which I dont care about..... but then your non partying people are hearing about them, only then to hear about the bad parts of the party.

First question I get asked today when I walk into work, oohh was that you that got done. I didnt even go to TT but cos Im into the scene, that was all the info that got across.

Disapointing that the positives we all see here dont get put across.

Channel 9 target demographic don't want to know about the positive aspects of dance music. Like it or not it's better footage to have some girl in fat pants spewing all over the ground sitting in a gutter outside a facility owned by the state government.

I turned up to the recovery at seven around 9:30am and there was a Channel 7 cameraman setup just taking footage of people who were walking in/out ... didn't see any of it on the news.

Fair enough. My question then would be is it worth the advertising at all if what gets displayed is the negative? I realise that the big parties bring awesome overseas acts and all that we may not be able to catch otherwise....

It's one of those situations that is always going to be portrayed in the same light, particularly given who controls the media and how obvious the political agenda is.

Getting the same vibe from all my mates as well..

Prodigy killed it... and that's about it.

I got over it pretty quickly after that, very very dissapointed at Grandmaster Flash... skills for sure but I could have been at a uni pub sinking dollar pots to hear that shit.

By the end it just felt weird and skanky.... rubbish everywhere, trashy ravers and not enough people digging it.

And Hyper was the reason I went basically, and as has been said the set was good but the vibe of the punters just wasn't...

I had a great time with the people I was with so I'm over it. Prodigy were worth the ticket price.

but their advertising is in niche media who are careful to report on sensitive issues such as OD's as they don't want to lose the ad spend.

Nine couldn't give a fuck, either would seven, as they don't see any money from party promoters.

Regardless of the bad press Two Tribes/GK/Slinky still pack them in and seem to have a relatively smooth working relationship with the venue operator ... so the bad press doesn't affect them.

woke up at three and headed down. couldnt be arsed seeing any other acts or hanging wit ravers for longer than needed.
saw the end of the breaks dj(dont know dont care who) who didnt really have the sound system pumping(6 subs, 4 mid highs).
4am photek jumps on and cranks the system to a better volume minus the mc all night (wot happened to armani?). played ball tearers for a hour n a half(instead of 2hrs) two many rewinds, not the best mixing(sort of look up to the guy more because of productions over 10+yrs) high light tune was the sidewinder rmx. 530 sharp and was out the fukn door. went past lounge on the way home to say hello to ficks and samo. and that was my night(didnt od and wasnt drunk and wit all the cops left my weed at home). nothing great.

i think that's the last TT i'll be going to unless there is a totally awesome lineup or a free ticket.

it's been a while since i've seen glow sticks at a party. i can't say i missed them.

sniffer dogs caused some paranoia. obviously can't of detered too many people as there were no shortage of munted people.

prodigy rocked. GMF was disapointing. richie hawtin was good and so was photek.

saw some pretty massive punch ons between security and fence jumpers. easily 200+ of them trying to rush fences at once. got pretty ugly.

pretty trashy crowd. pretty trashy people.
