Ok, I'm getting excited now.
Takin the day off school to get on the decks.
Saturday is going to be a blast!!
Just a few reminders....
Make sure you get there early on Sat night.
I'm not sure how many entrances to the club management will be opening.
(I can take a guess it's at least one. hehe.)
I'm sure they will sort it out efficiently though, because they are a great bunch of dudes, and highly skilled at running the madhouse which is Brown Alley.
There is no guestlist, so again, get there early to avoid the line.
Also get there early to check out the initial acts, Pelako, etc.
Also, make sure you Go Fucking Right Off!!
We will be.

Just had two coffee's, a touch on the decks, and going to have a shower (I'm sitting in my undies and Ugg boots right now), and then I'm back on again.
Just realised I slept in my M.B.U t-shirt last night, but fuck it, I'm still going to wear the fucker for the next three days!!
FUCK IT!! I'M GOING TO WEAR MY M.B.U T-SHIRT FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE!!!
WHO'S WITH ME??

Here's the score on that one. Due to an unforseen flight booking error that he had no control over for his gig up north tomorrow night, Brewster B will not be able to play tonight. I'm extremely bummed about this as he was the major inspiration for the night in the first place, but the show must go on. So we've now officially booked and confirmed the man himself, Keltec, into the main room line-up. Here's that line-up from Little Evil to the end; all other set times are staying the same:lynt wrote:isnt keltec in miami ??
3-4AM Little Evil
4-5AM Scotrod
5-6AM Shane Ford
6-7AM Keltec
Sorted!!!
Literally walked in 3 minutes ago and decided to jump on this site to say...
LAST NIGHT WAS ABSOLUTELY OFF THE HOOK!!!
Saw so many good sets from Melbourne's finest. People, we got the real deal in this city of ours. My thoughts on the night...
I'll do the Main Room in order, cuz this was my favorite local breaks line-up of all time. Scratch that. Favorite line-up of all time...everyone rocked it!
Gsan - Does the man ever play a bad set? Seen him rock many a dance floor, but his opening sets are by far the best in our city.
Pelako - All over the place and I loved it!
Ben Stacey - I put his set right up there with the one he did at the Breakbeat BBQ on NYDay. Began with the groovy weirdness and ended in straight up funky nu skool. The bastard made me delete half the stuff I brought, cuz he had the floor going so well. Made me pull out the big guns.
Obliveus - What the hell was I doing up there???
Guyno - Always quality. He's like the Mercedes of Melb breakbeat.
Little Evil - NUUUUUUUUUSKOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 3 cheers.
Scotrod - Plain and simple, the boy is AMAZING. Nobody, and I do mean nobody, has got this guys skills on the decks. Cuttin and scratchin, effects processor, vocal samples, you name it. He proved once again why he's going to be the next big name in breaks. Now that he's got his G4, expect the best from this Hampton Park homey.
Shane Ford - Damn he makes some good tracks. Didn't recognize 75% of his set, so I was assuming that most of the music was his and judging from the size of his CD wallet, he's been busy in the studio.
Keltec - Give it up for the most understanding guy I've ever worked with. They decided that instead of closing the Electro room @ 6am they would close downstairs, because everyone had to go upstairs anyways to exit the venue. Only Keltec didn't find out about this til 10 minutes into his set downstairs (from me). He had to finish his last track downstairs and lug all his records upstairs to finish off his set in the Electro Room. Good crowd for so early in the morning...I thought.
Heath Myers - On my way down those stairs for the 30th time, I happened upon Mr. Myers absolutely killing it. Dirrrrrrty!!! Hans-DC had the place going off as well. Lynt in the side room had the place goin off and his long hair suits him well. EK - New tunes!!! We're not worthy. Ferris morning set. Damn, this guy can play. All styles, too. Love DJ's like him.
All in all, it was a great night that I'm looking forward to repeating year in and year out. Remember, next year's event will be a benefit for the Starlight Foundation. We will be able to put aside a hefty chunk of change for next years party. SO BIG UPS MELBOURNE...YOU ROCK!!!
