Thanx Mr Roar. :D
Nice meeting you on Sat night too.

It was no less than incredible.

I'm still too tired to write much, but it was the finest breaks party I've ever been to.
I'm sure you'll hear heaps when everyone gets back to work 2moz.
Big ups to Eric and Guy for putting in their all on this too.
We worked incredibly hard, had to fight for everything, and go through mountains of shit to get the job done - but we did it.
We packed the joint, we rocked the joint, everyone involved put their heart and soul into their sets, and it was awe inspiring.

Anyone who missed this party, missed out BAD.

A big thanx to everyone who helped in any way, and to all the performers who did Melbourne proud.

Section 8 will be back, very soon. We got heaps planned for you geezers, and to let out a bit of a secret....

A new record label being launched in the next few months - Hard 8 Recordings.
Tough, funky, heavy breaks of the likes that has never come out of this town - made for the dancefloor.
Just wait. You aint going to believe your ears.
Will be putting some audio clips up on the net in the next couple of weeks as a tease.

Hope to see you all at Gimme a Break this Saturday, as we have Q45 from Fuzzy Breaks joining us, and it's $10, or $5 if you got a pass on Sat night, or if you put your name on our guestlist.

Very proud of you guys. Awesome. :D

Great party, everyone I saw that played completely smashed the joint! Well done to all those involved. Easter Sunday morning was pretty interesting. Big ups to all the DJ's, MC's and the single live act (Blueprint/Glenn, love ya work!) as well as the awesome organisation that would have been a nightmare to pull off, but somehow ya did. Visuals were pretty tripped out too, but flowed well with the tunes. It just goes to show ya how much talent is out there in the world breakbeat in Melbourne, and just how passionate everyone is for it. Can't wait to see what we'll have in store next time!

But most importantly of all, I managed to purchase one of those wicked arse MBU t-shirts and will forever upon donning the garment be the epitome of style with substance.

Okay, maybe not, but it's a damn fine looking shirt. :D Enjoy the rest y'all.
Allons-y!

I must say that I was VERY impressed with the main / nu skool stage :D
usually big room nu skool misses the mark with me, but you guys were on the bullseye!!!

Up stairs for Lynt, Blueprint and EK were quite good too, albeit for the bass resonance problems..... but heck, they have a glass ceiling so I guess there's not too much the guys at brown alley can do... (although, gyprock - or some trade company, maybe insulco, produce "SOUND CHECK" insulation batts that absorb sound frequencies; not like normal batts that conserve temperature.....something to look into maybe.)

Great night indeed :D

Also, on the same note, most of the time VJing and the whole visuals things are lame but whoever was doing the visuals were brilliant!!!!!

Also...the MCing was great too.... usually anytime I hear MCing over Breaks or DnB I'm thinking "shut up you dumb cunt" but you guys really added to the music....

had high expectations of this night which were met....

ok... now that my brain has re-attached.. here's a better review..

Fucking awesome night. congrats! was a big stretch for me and many others to spend a whole night at a breaks party.. well and truely 'breaked' out... but i guess i had to expect that.

All three rooms had truely distinctive styles. Place for me was the prog room. nice and intimate, easy bar access, plenty of seats, pool action.

Electro room was mad also.. Rowie, Hans DC and Ferris played outstanding sets.

Didn't spend much time downstairs.. only to chat to Drew's parents who were gurning in up large :D .

The visuals were great, the door biatchs spot on, the sound was pretty good all round, the heads packed in, toilets no waiting, security staff top guys.

My only gripes.. the staircase from 3 to 2nd floor.. i swear i was gonna kill myself.. way too dark; the cloak room... shit system.. needs sorting.

it probably would be a bit stretch for me to come to another night unless there was a hip-hop or dnb room somewhere... im such a complaining biatch..lol

good to catch up with all crews and MB heads.. BRB.. thanks again

Cant wipe this jivearse grin of my dial. Had an awesome night. Great people, great tunes, great venue. Where to begin?

Thanks first and foremost to everyone that got down and made for such an incredible vibe throughout the entire venue.

Thanks to all dj's and MC's for what were absolutely incredible sets going down one after another in all rooms, ALL FUCKING NIGHT!!!!!!!!. (my biggest problem was not knowing which room to be in!)

Thanks to BA venue owners, management, staff and security for your help and tops attitudes. Big ups to Steve.

Thanks to the two SUPER door biatched, Bek and Liz. You guys rock and love ya's both!

Thanks to BRB for being one of the funniest Khunts alive and yer rooftop action. p.s. Bek stole yer cap but we will return it during the week.

Thanks to all those who made this happen. It was all well worth it in the end and a most special thanks to Obe and Drew for your passion and support. You guys ROCK!

I'll just shut the fuck now as this is starting to sound too much like a cheeseball Oscars acceptance speach. :?

Anyways, had a wicked night.

Peace.

that was a ball-tearer of a night!

I was already pretty sideways when I arrived but thought I may aswell just keep going, so the night is a bit of a blur.

props to all the mofo's who put this shindig together, Guyno, Evil, OB1 and everyone else behind the scenes. All the DJ's I saw nailed it and the visuals were farken SIK!

Was good to see all the crew in full-force, get some breaks inta ya!

Massive big ups to the hardcore khunts that made it back to my place, the rooftop will never be the same again. (Guy, that’s Quinn’s hat so I’ll have to get it back off ya)

nice one Geeza's!! 8)

I was trying to explain how great a night this was to the people I work with but they just dont get it. My students understood though and in 3 years time, I think I made us a whole new crowd for breaks in Melbourne. I'll say it for the bizzillionth time...MELBOURNE KICKS ASS!!!

Back from my extended leave and wanted to add my five cents worth (as usual).

FUCKING MAD NIGHT!

Great vibe, great atmosphere and plenty of familiar faces to get sideways with! Musically, it was great to see so many diverse styles across three rooms, even if the stairs were an interesting experience with the eye wobble stylez...

Musically:

1. Lynty had me jumping upstairs, boy got skillz.
2. Ran down stairs to catch Guyno layin down the fat grooves - still lovin the Schumacher dude!
3. Evil - set of the night for me, loved watching the Evil one in his ninja-like bubble crankin out quality tune after tune - INFECTIOUS!
4. Blueprint - gold as always, love your work and the energy - big room, small room, the boy KNOWS how to rock a party.
5. Ferris - nailed it, killer stuff.

Other:

1. bRb arriving in an interesting state and still rocking hard as usual, pound for pound biggest constitution ever...
2. JBS roaring at me when Blueprint dropped his remix of Crooked.
3. Being told I dance with a lot of rage after narrowly avoiding punching another poor punter in the head with my flailing wings.
4. Random calls from bRb and Stovie demanding I drag my arse out of bed and get back on it.
5. Meeting Shifty on the stairs - hope I made a small amount of sense...

THANK YOU all crews for making this happen, major props for bringing MBU together, hears to many more...

 :D :D 8)

Glenns house was fun, and I didn't partake in the shennanigans that were e-flavoured. I was too farked to lift anything to my mouth. :D
Saw all you galoots up on the roof, and realised I had no energy to get up there, so I stayed on the ground with Lil Miss and crew.
Guyno was chewing his own lips off. :D
Nat looked like she was going to die.
Jaime was the pill-monster!!
Great Magnet - Where did you get to geezer? We missed you!!!

Hey Glenny! I left a blue Dillo jumper at your joint. Can you find it for me?

Thanx for the props too guys much appreciated. Fuck it was a god night wasn't it?
