Bah...Corby is Guilty - well not yet but imo. Just cause shes a hot lookin 24 y.o from qld peeps thinks shes innocent.T I C K A wrote:Michelle Corby is innocent !
Its just a big hype for the indonesian media...
Those dudes that had the shit strapped to their bodies, well.... THEY HAD IT STRAPPED TO THEM !!!
As for the Bali 9 - They will get whats coming. Harsh but who the fuck smuggles herion...Crazy Cats.
I haven't heard a genuine reason as to why the federal police didn't wait to arrest them in Australia besides the vague "oh well it was a joint operation" and "well it was a crime commited in Indonesia" stuff. Seems to me, they'd had them under surveillance for a few months (since Feb) they could have arrested them in Australia, if for no other reason than we are MEANT to be opposed to the death penalty here. It's not as if they wouldn't have faced serious jail time in this country.
Turning them in to face "jusitice" in a country like Indonesia should really have been a last resort I feel. But then, I am heavily opposed to the death penalty in absolutely all circumstances.

FP - Flip the Coin - 9 Bali ppl are about to board a plane from Aus to Bali with the same shit strapped on em.....They wouldve been arrested in Oz straight away! You cant interfere with another countrys crimes. If i commit a crime in france i expect to do my time in france. true?funkypaws wrote:I haven't heard a genuine reason as to why the federal police didn't wait to arrest them in Australia besides the vague "oh well it was a joint operation" and "well it was a crime commited in Indonesia" stuff. No i agree with Funkypaws, i had this conversation last night with my missus. The AFP notified the indonesian authoroties about this. This is an insane crime to commit, but is worthy of death? Surely not, why wouldn't the AFP wait to they Australian shores to nab them? This is no doubt a case where these people will be made an example of.
Do u seriously think the AFP would let 9 ppl out of Oz and fly to bali without arresting em? I dont....
Edit - @ Sepps - Sorry not hot but she aint ugly...u know what i mean. Innocent looks go along way.

The Indonesian authorities didn't find out about this by thenselves - if they had, it would be different. It's the fact that they were tipped off by the Australian federal police that I'm questioning. It seems strange to me, and as i said I think the reasons given for tipping them off have been vague. I mean, these guys were not even doing this for that much money - polished international drug barons they weren't - they seemed to be fairly amatuer about it.
And not only did federal police shop them to a country where that crime carries the death penalty, they shopped them to a country where the chances of a fair trial are not that great either. Seems weird to me.

Bali 9 - Well they will be gettin an extra dosage of lead in there daily intake some time soon!!
The thing that dumbfounds me about the Bali 9 is the risk vs the pay off factor. The amount of money these guys would have gotten payed if they completed their smuggle successfully is jack shit compared to what the syndicate would have made once back in Australia. Either very desperate or very stupid.
They could have just got themselves in too deep and felt like they were forced to do it? Maybe talked a bit of shit here and there, next thing they knew there committed to do it and had the syndicate leaning on them hard. Went past the point of no return maybe??
Could have been a case of felling like, or knowing that the syndicate would 'do them over' if they didn't carry it out. So having this pressure lent on you, why not run the risk and take a chance.
Schepelle Corby - I beleive she is a victim. I think the baggage handler theory is spot on.

I'm not sure I have much sympathy for them, their families perhaps, but
honestly with all the media from the corby case around at the moment
the had no excuse for not knowing what there might be risking.
If you know the penalties that apply for such a crime then you make a
calculated risk. $10,000 each for possibly death? They made the wrong
choice and looks like they are propper fucked.

Well considering how good ol jonny has just managed to patch relations with Indo he would be too scared to ruffle any feathers. If we did get em all back without Indo's consent I recon there would be a major rah rah.Spherix wrote:the oz government condemns the death penalty but wilfully supplies people to get it thru a tip off, they coulda let them come home and be dealth with here.

bali 9
sacraficial lambs totally put in by our cops, who knows about Corby, for that matter the other 9 as well. Any cops are dangerous ppl to deal with. What about the fuckhead judges over there, not killing her because she was polite!! seems if she dressed in "nice girlie" clothes they would hire her as a nanny. Imagine three unintellegent , ignorant old hypocrites deciding whether you die or not! And your own gov washing thier hands of you cause thier so far up thiers and thier own arses.
I don't usually comment about things I don't know about. but it goes without saying ... corby is innocent, bali 9 guilty for being forced into their own stupidity.
speaking of corruption...let's see if the so-called ring leader gets off, albiet the video of him when being interogated. he seemed very relaxed and calm.
I'd say to make things fair and just in the world - we send Indo's legal and judicial system over to Iraq, and let equilibrium sort itself out.
Oh and in cases of travelling citizens (WHO ARE STILL IN THE FUCKING AIRPORT!), I recommend a bi-lateral judicial stance be taken when dealing with circumstancial evidence and where two opposing legal entities such as each country should work in unison to achieve a fair and just outcome for any trial.
It's not a matter of doing the crime where, it's a matter of where the precursory events took place that set the crime in motion. If Corby got the drugs in Indo 'at the airport' then on prima facie evidence you would have to give way to legal action being persuant in the country of origin for said action. which is fair enough. and considering 2 airports had no worries with the contents of her baggage up until Indo, shouldn't questions still be asked?
Now you can see why the Australian government is protecting it's scrotom. oh no, we possibly don't deal with drugs here. "it's not our problem" WE JUST DO THE BIG BUSTS THAT COME HERE, CATCH THE CRIMS, AND IF THEY'RE NOT CITIZENS OF OUR GREAT LAND, LET'S DEPORT THE FUCKERS THAT SHIPPED THEM HERE, AND LET THEIR OWN COUNTRIES DEAL WITH THEM!. Nice one government. I can see they really look out for their own when it comes to circumstancial crimes.
let's all rape and murder in our own country and get 7 years jail time. hoorah...and let's deport some nigerians for filling in their visa papers incorrectly because of obscure lingo that only aussies would truly understand. Even better! Hoorah!
When it comes to the crunch the government never has and never will look out for it's current and prospective citizens.
well enough ranting, I don't want to get a heart attack, and then be a burdon on the medicare system heaven forbid. oh wait, I can still get private!!! oh, hang on...hmmm...i'm still fucked either way. too bad.

corby: after the media got to it, they basically fucked her. you can pay your way out of anything over there, except when it becomes public knowledge. now, justice must be done.
ocean's eleven: generally when kids like that get caught, they're small time users who become dealers to get better shit and make money for using. after a while, the distributors up the quantities that they have to deal each week, threatening violence if they don't. then they get put on a plane. catching these people does fuck all. 10 keys off the streets equals big fucking deal.
also, a possible reason ocean's eleven were arrested in bali and not australia: exchange for a corby life sentence?

I have lived a much happier life since I realised this and gave up all hope of positive change in this country. With a government like Johnny H's it was just too damn depressing constantly being let down. And to think he is about to assume majority control makes me cringe.Rob M wrote:When it comes to the crunch the government never has and never will look out for it's current and prospective citizens.
As for the Bali 9 : Silly boys, but sillier AFP.
Shapelle Corby : Talking to one of her high school friends made me think she was guilty as sin.

arrr i think corby be guilty
there's photos of her with known dealers with pot in front of her
"i've never been near it my life"
her father lived next door to a dealer for 20 years, even following him 500kms to buy the house next door. the same dealer who was raided and a HUGE quantity was found. funnily enough, what they found was about 4kgs less than what they expected to find. the same amount our schapelle had on her....
there's no 100 proof, but all the coincidences stack up against her

I'm with you.
You go to Asia, when you sign your entry pass on the plane there is big writing in capitals - IF YOU SMUGGLE DRUGS INTO THIS COUNTRY AND ARE ARE CAUGHT YOU WILL POTENTIALLY FACE THE DEATH PENALTY.
Everyone knows - why the fuck would you do it?
Those Bali 9 dudes are all going to meet their maker at the hands of a firing squad in the not too distant future.
As for Schapelle - as Ben said, she definately is a slapper, and I used to think she was innocent, but with the shit that's been going on with her brother over here in Aus, you have to re-consider the whole situation.
Either she was in on it, or, she knew nothing, and the low bastard (Her brother) put the drugs in her boggie board case.
What a scumbag, and is definately a criminal of the lowest weasle-like type.
I feel sorry for her, but the other nine are as guilty as sin - know the consequences, and are now going to die for it.
The death penalty is way harsh, but everyone knows the deal.
You get caught, you die.
And the dudes in the Bali 9 aren't exactly the sharpest knives in the drawer, are they?
I personally think if you have been dumb enough to get into that sort of stuff, then face the consequences. I'm not all for the death penalty (however only if the person has taken that many lives then fine so be it, eye for an eye).
Drugs to though can take lives also, it happens every day. I have no sympanthy for them.
My two cents.
