Rage Against the Machine tour

Weâ€™ve been waiting more than a decade â€“ but finally the wait is over â€“ Rage Against the Machine will be touring Australia this summer. Californiaâ€™s favourite rebel sons will be making their first foray outside the US since reforming.

â€œIs it coincidence that in the seven years that Rage Against the Machine has been away that America has slid into right-wing purgatory? I think not,â€ Tom Morello told MTV on the eve of the reunion. â€œIt occurred to all of us that the times were right to see if we can knock the Bush administration out in one fell swoop, and we hope to do that job wellâ€¦ There is no action without reaction. And weâ€™re part of that reaction.â€

The re-formed RAGE â€“ vocalist Zack de la Rocha, guitarist Tom Morello, drummer Brad Wilk and bassist Tim Commerford â€“ will set the Australian summer ablaze with two very special shows in Sydney and Melbourne.

Fans at this yearâ€™s Coachella festival can already attest to the power of the groupâ€™s reformation â€“ even our own Daily Tele writer proclaimed the comeback as â€œimpassionedâ€.

100 bucks for rage is much less than this gig is worth

it's going to sell out in 10 mins- just look at the response just on this thread, let alone the rest of melbs plus no doubt the gippsland boys etc

They could easily sell out Rod Laver... and the gap between Australian dates is quite large at the moment.

nah i wouldn't count on it, especially considering they're playin BDO
i remember a few years ago when tool did a sydney-melburn tour and they didn't announce any other shows

actually, yes they did- they played an extra one in sydney.. after melb sold out ten times faster! TOOLS@!

If BDO is on 28th, then yes - these are after BDO.

And the initial rumour was BDO Headline - although it's still to be confirmed.

If there aren't any additional shows announced, and Adelaide and Perth aren't filling the massive hole between Melb and Syd dates (8 days!) then I brand the promoters fools.

This would have sold out Rod Laver, piss easy.
