Destination? Summer Sunday ft Groove Diggerz (UK) - Jan 20th
- An afternoon @ The Lounge -
Rob Savage (Groove Diggerz) is the main man behind the electro tech Groove Diggerz phenomenon which is sweeping the world since their debut on the scene a mere 2 years ago. Groove Diggerz is the act everyone in dance music circles are watching right now. They won the prestigious Breakthrough Producer award 2007, came 3rd in the Breakthrough DJ 2007 category and their record label “Breakin Even†finished second for Breakthrough Label 2007 at this year's Breakspoll. They are enjoying a meteoric rise to fame bringing their brand of electro fueled funk.
Breakbeat was a natural progression for someone who can play just about any musical instrument put in his hands. Spending four years as the drummer in “Metro†he enjoyed success with one album and European tour before the group disbanded and he turned his attention to electronic music. Groove Diggerz then jetted off to the Canary Islands securing a long DJ residency. This is where he acquired his production skills from Dutch producer Nils Pot. Being a drummer by trade the drums in his tracks have a uniquely warm feel and always bring the funk.
Rob Savage is also the main man behind the acclaimed electro funk night 'Breakin Even'. Going five years strong it formed the foundation for his record label “Breakin Evenâ€. His other label Even Flow has been doing just as well. The labels have featured artists including Pilch, Dogtown Clash, Manuel Neztic, Diverted, Ben and Lex, Jay Stewart / Refunk and Kickflip. The labels have been highly successful in pushing the new wave of nu-skool breakbeat.
Their track “Big Bad Bruiser†hit mainstream in Australia when it was used during the summer campaign for the TV show “The OCâ€. Their most recent track “Live for the Weekend†was a chart topper and received massive support from Radio1 and KissFM. Their production talent has not gone unnoticed by the world’s biggest Electro funk label, Fingerlickin, being invited to remix Soul of Man’s “The Drumâ€. The remix blasted its way to number one of any breakbeat chart you could get your hands on.
2007 is seeing their blossoming career skyrocket. After returning from Australia they hit Europe before returning home to play some huge parties including “Chew The Fat†in London, “Beautiful Days†and the infamous “Glade†Festivals. Groove Diggerz now embark on a tour around Europe, Asia and Australasia to promote their album “Singles Vol 1†and their 2nd album which has the whole breakbeat world waiting in anticipation!
“What I love about the Groove Diggerz is you never know what to expect from their productions. These guys have the production ability to go wherever they choose, tech phat to bassline dirt, no worries for these boys†- Jimmy Mofo
“The Groove Diggerz have rushed to the top this year with their hugely successful labels “Breakin Even†and “Even Flow†their sound is unmatched by any other producer on the scene†- Z Audio
Support: A-Jam, Citizen.com, Little Chris, Breaksome, Broken Logic
Canapes and drink specials provided from 3pm

haha yeah breakfest was awesome in Perth.. even though it was like 46 degrees! GDs set was actually really good - prob agree with signal drivers that it was the best (big call given the lineup!). very fresh and funky
they say it's cooling down over the weekend in Melbourne at least - enough with the stinky weather!

That day brings back some good memories. Especially when I pulled out the monitor cord for some reason and almost blew the system. And dancing on the couches action.

Official Groove Diggerz T-shirts will be available on the night, so don't forget to bring along a couple extra dollars - they're wicked tees.
My mrs. will be there selling them on behalf of the GD's and TheNeedForTees.com.
[/end plug]
I'll be there to support her of course, not for the GD's at all
