I have just found a wicked take away service that does the yummiest stuff. Dinner tonight: roasted sesame guinea fowl in a garlic, ginger and tamari sauce with lightly spiced roasted carrots and topped with butter bean and rosemary mash. They deliver fresh and precooked and I just have to bung it in the microwave for four minutes at night. Its even quicker than beans on toast!

^^ vegan chicken parma..... scary....

it's good, it's not all vegan, most meals have both meat and veg versions. vegan versions are scarily like the real thing... I was with a big group and everyone seamed happy with the food. I was indifferent about it tbh.

Thaila Thai is pretty wikkid also, usually pretty packed which is always a good sign. You can't go wrong with either TT or Brunnie.

so after all this east brunny club talk... I went there last night for the "chicken" parma... it was ace, although I remember the "cheese" being better the first time I had it.

quick, however, was dissapointed with his real parma. So, you can't win them all.

I like the atmosphere at that pub though. Looks like I'll be going out for dinner again tonight :) dunno where yet.

Had a brillant dinner at Balzari on tuesday. From the $30 Braise & BYO menu I had the most divine green lentil soup with parmesan, then chicken braised in white wine with onion & rosemary served on polenta with potaoes and side salad. the chicken had a lovely flavour to it.

wish I could lock this in every Tuesday night!
great service too!

Pete!!!

That is madness right there - you've got a lucky mum.

Nice work mate - the mandarin puddings sound out of control.

Gnat - I did fifteen once for a work lunch, meh - not that flash. Supposedly the place on the opposite side of the laneway is much better - haven't been there though yet.

just checked the menu for Byblos - how good does this sound - nice one

Seayadeyeh
Fresh barramundi grilled and served with brown
rice, pine nuts, and a rich, provincial-style jus.
Topped with toasted pine nuts, pistachios and
crushed almonds.

Jus = french for sauce or "juice" to be literal.

provincial refers to province (region or "department" as they call them in France). It is often used instead of "country".
It is different Provence which is a department of France (Provence-alps-cote d'azur)

So it is fancy speak for "country-style sauce".
