the only motivation someone would have to do that is just to get some attention. they are clearly losers who cannot do art themselves, so feel the need to trash others' art. nothing worse than someone who feels the need to make up for their own inadequacies by destroying someone else's talent.

seen some of the pieces along the lilydale/belgrave line near glenferrie, hawthorn stations, trashed by CTwhatever, they are awesome.

I don't have a problem with graffiti, as long as it is not done on private property and is done in an artistic way. fuck tagging, it's pathetic and looks like shit. nobody wants to see it, and nobody cares. good pieces, bring it on.

interesting topic.

I have heard first hand (years ago) that CTSA were indeed transits - the worlds worst kept secret - and stood for COP TRASH SHIT ART. There were a few guys going around at the time, one of them slashing pieces using the name BIRDY. It was alleged an apparent nickname based on a greek surname. There were a few other too but the names escape me.

CTCV, by any reasoning would be either transits or I have heard, a group of ticket inspectors out to cause some trouble. Either way, there are a few people onto em...

They are NOT writers and NOT a graffiti crew. These are grown men, paid to police our city...but instead walk our train lines late at night with cans of aerosol paint and slash pieces...

Apparently, there has been footage obtained of these guys slashing pieces somewhere along the Epping line...

CTCV is cops taking control of Victoria.
there paid to slash peices along the train lines, there all along it from moorabin station to like all stations in the city. Supposedly if they slash your peice there gonna start trying to find u. donna if its true just heard it around.

The graffiti vandals seem oblivious that their bellyaches mirror those frequently levelled
at them by those in the wider community who consider their modern-day cave paintings visual vomit. No matter who is behind them, the CTCV tags certainly haven't made Melbourne any prettier. But, given most citizens can barely understand the jumble of hieroglyphics the "artists" squirt on walls, a few extra unintelligible strokes are worth it for the pain it is obviously causing the vandals.
'visual vomit' ???

the 'artists' ?

GRRRRRRR i shouldnt have read this so early, im angry kitty now.

Yes, I was part of the original team and still help out with promo and door/bar duties etc.

Dont Ban The Can is doing some good things, getting some good press and some dubious press, but thats to be expected i guess.

What I don't get is why is it only to a certain point along the lines?

There's graf all over the station that borders St Kevin's... why hasn't any of this got CTCV over it whilst 500m down the line @ Burnley there is?
