Mistabishi, faces 'miming' accusations

Post by kronz »

istabishi is in all kinds of trouble. The producer behind 'Printer Jam' has been exposed for playing a pre-mixed CD when DJing at a club last weekend.

According to our source this isn't the first time he's done it either. All hell has broken loose on drum 'n' bass message boards and he's had to write an official apology.

When Mixmag spoke to Hospital Records about it yesterday they mooted he might be dropped from the label.

Meanwhile loads of D 'n' B people like Doc Scott, Hype, Commix have been slating him on Twitter.

Yeah he's in a bit of trouble. He's been busted a couple of times before. About 18 months ago Hospital Recs issued a big apology for him, saying that he would shape up. Wouldn't surprise me if they dumped him.

I feel a bit bad for the guy, but seriously, what an utter fuckwit.

With all the money he's collected from gigs he could buy himself some decent clothes.

BTW DnB needs a decent scandal. Been too long since Grooverider's stint in Dubai.

Yeah look massive respect to the guy as a producer - he's innovative and blah blah blah. But like I mentioned to hardy the other day - if ya can't mix don't go tempting fate innit.

You owe him an apology more than anything. Blaming the promoter was dark.

Taking the absolute piss out of something that a lot of us who have spent years working hard upon is one thing but disrespecting the actual art of Dj-ing like it's pointless is another.

You started a thread on here trying to ask people if being a producer or a Dj is more important?

Maybe if you could actually grasp the fact that our dnb scene a a whole is fucking important. The Music, the people, the Djs the Mcs... the promoters.

You have disrespected a lot of people on a lot of levels..
what? how? by being a shit DJ?

you're one of "them" tho to be fair.....mp3s beatport forum hype ableton auto sync......u get the jist...
lol I'll take the bait

no I'm not I sold dub, reggae, DNB, garage vinyl on a market stall in camden from 1995 - 1998 , still own over 8000 of them, worked for Renegade Hardware for 3 years after that doing AnR for a record label, got my own tunes out on vinyl and I still spend my own money to press the stuff for my own record label!

if that makes me anti-vinyl then thats a sad day.

the fact that I DO think its an out-dated medium, that I cant be fucked to carry it round any more, that I DONT think it sounds better are simple decisions and choices I have made after YEARS of working with the stuff. simple really its a pain in the arse and I only waste my own money pressing it to impress people like you because people who buy vinyl tend to be loyal to brands and there's still a good mark up in it.

seriously, I love vinyl and like when people play it but if a DJ can mix and brings a heavy set to the table who really cares. Look at Spor for example...

The thing that really pisses me off about Mistabishi isn't even the fact he played a mix cd... it's the attitude, the fact he lied and the fact it keeps happening. He's making money for doing nothing. gah makes me angry!!!!!

dnb is just a parody of itself nowadays, a room full of tracksuits vibing to a studio mix while watching a man hop about fiddling knobs.
He's obsessed with the '80s, he goes on 10-mile jogs with trance pumping out of his iPod, he hates MCs, loves make-up and spins drum & bass sets that see-saw from the most evil neuro-funk

Wow! And just the other day I was suggesting that some one should look at booking the guy.
Makes me wonder why he doesn't do what Raiden does and chuck all his tunes into Ableton. Don't need to worry about BPM matchin, just bring different parts of songs in and out and create a live mix.

Ok this is fucked. Not just a fraudulent DJ.... a lazy producer as well.

"Also mistabishi assured hospital records he used samples for printer jam that he himself had personally made, he said he sampled various epson and hp printers, only for hospital records to be contacted by a website that provides royalty free samples to complain that mistabishi had in fact used samples downloaded from their site and not given them a mention... when faced with the truth mistabishi finally admitted this was what he had done and he had lied previously."

Cause its like a car-crash and I couldnt look away I just trawled thru that entire DOA thread:

- Miss R is a royal bitch.
- I think Doc Scott shouldnt have posted that Tweet convo
- At the end of all this, I think the spanish inquistion would have been very proud of this result, cause Mistabishi is now quite royally fucked.
- Without wanting to my admiration for him is now diminished
- Just proves that really, most people, famous or not, are complete wankers.
- that we are all part of the machine that will lead to the demise of it all.

That a lot of "pioneers" have had plenty of time to iron out their own weaknesses, but were actually allowed the process because the internet wasnt strong then.

Summary: Poor poor bastard.
