i am drunk and i have to rant -
so I pulled up in the car just as 'housemate' was strapping his mattress to the back of his car, his last possession to move as he sneakily moved out while nobody was home today, still owing $1k and having cleaned out his room without telling us when he is actually moving out. A note and keys on the bench with no mention of dates or amounts for payback. (for rent and bills - on my credit card)

confronted him, he denied everything, till I LOST it, which finally got his attention.
He has now brought back two guitars for bond as guarantee he will pay the cash. I told him 'you have two months to pay till i sell em' and that didnt seem to register.

feel used, stupid and hate having to act crazy to get someone who is 37, who I dont know from shit, to look after their own shit.

may I add, this guy turned up to his interview in a 3 piece YSL suit and was a mortgage broker, false advertising alert!!!!

ARGH, meh and :(

Absolutely.

A few years ago we were conducting interviews for prospective housemates and during the first one I ran out of things to ask so I picked up a handful of records and asked this girl to comment on them.
She knew they were records and told us her old man had a bunch of old records = win. Other interviewees were subsequently given the exact same records and asked to respond to what they were holding.
The responses were varied
- from "I don't know waht to say" = FA1L
- a detailed analysis of the types of vehicles depicted on the covers = Fa1L (too mcuh knowldge about cars bordering on trainspotting or amateur radio enthusiast.
Eventually my housemate let a sexy woman move in without doing the test and turned to be a psycho.

I still think he is not going to pay up, and im not sure if two guitars will cover $1k. I can't afford to change the locks on a rental house! The whole house is windows n sliding doors too etc....

I feel so used. Lied to.
I havent been that angry for ages, years! I actually picked up the giant recycling bin and THREW it up the walkway (hello gym junkie payoffs) told him if he left that minute, without discussing it, I would tell EVERYONE in town he is a DODGY cunt. That finally got through to him.
I also told him if i was a guy, I would have punched him long ago. and he is a 6 foot + black man heheh

Was shaking for hours after, hence needing to drink a bottle of wine. Im still not feeling right today. Who ARE these people?

re the music comment - i work in the electronic music industry, but listen to hip hop and folk music at home, while playing the ukulele, my other housie (who is awesome thank god) is into heavy metal and plays sweet guitar (yes, we jam heheh)
so fuck writing anyone off due to what music they like. plus - i fucking love dubstep.

i agree re music unless they like country AND western hahaha jokes

i don't get people either GK. This morning I log on to my work email to find an email from a Partner saying they have received a complaint from the people that myself and a few other people did volunteer work for over a month ago. The email went along the lines of - the firm is unhappy to have received this feedback and that we have behaved insensitively and that other people are not as fortunate as we are etc etc. This of course caused an uproar from myself and the other volunteers as none of us could recall anything badly being said etc and we were offended to even be accused of having said something. After speaking to the Partner and finding out that apparently what was said was “the homeless people smelt and we didn’t want to talk to them”. This of course did not happen at all!!! We did meet some homeless people but they didn’t even smell (not that it would really matter if they did, but they just didn’t). It’s since been realised that they are accusing the wrong people and now the Partner is furious with the situation. He is also annoyed to find out that we found them to be unappreciative and somewhat rude towards us, and the place we helped volunteer at was cramped and freezing cold, and we didn’t use the toilet as it was not clean at all; but we never said anything about this because we didn’t want to be rude.

If you are going to accuse people of something, at least get the fricken people right, and also maybe take a look at yourselves before complaining about others. We didn’t stop working the whole time we were there, stayed back late to keep helping out and received very little thanks from them for all the work we did. Fuckin bullshit

Jeebus fuck, what a shitty situation :(. In the absence of lock-changing, I say at least keep the guitars off-site. Even if they don't cover the cash, at least you can claim a small moral victory. I'd also have a quick word to the tenants union just to double check if there are any ways to pursue him.

Happens to the best of us. And sometimes the giant gap in rent makes us conveniently not see things we otherwise might.

Whinge of the day: being trapped at home with housemate, all of whose personality tics are driving me fucking mental. I have no idea how she made it to this age without being extorted for all cash and possessions by gypsies/setting herself alight while cooking/falling down and not being able to get up/drowning in the shower. ARGH!!!

I couldn't tolerate spending another day (besides Xmas) trapped in the same room with extended family. Thanksgiving sounds like an excruciatingly painful and pointless holiday.

Thankfully in Australia we have more meaningful public holidays like the Melbourne Cup.
