Babe you are going to have the best time ever. You like ostara and matreiya and all dem parties,
dis wan gonna blow ya mind.

my biggest piece of advice, learnt after 11 rainbows and too many earthcores to mention is,
SLEEP AT NIGHT!!!!

It's cold and dark, stay up til one or two am, watch the lazors in the trees, and then go to bed.
get up before dawn, quick breakfast, dress up, dose up, and onto the dancefloor with a bottle of champagne or bloody mary for dawn. this way you will last all weekend, for many do not.

we spend so much of our lives inside venues and clubs at night, the true beauty of outdoor parties is the bush,
the endless sound that bounces off nothing, the colourful people who you can actually see, who actually smile at you because they are not in an environment that is too-kool-for-school, and the DAYTIME trashiness!

good advice kitty

lasers are cool but its fkn freezing at night and dawn and daytime trashiness are tops!

last year on the fri i went too hard n fast (didn't help that we got there after nightfall) and had to have a big nap in the afternoon on sat, missing spoonbill and other fun. but was back for sat night at least!
unfortunately one of my mates went even harder and slept through the sat night festivities! (crashed at like 9pm after having had no sleep for 50 odd hours and heaps of acid)

so yeah a good sleep window would be like 2am to 6am depending on the acts i reckon. 4hrs is enough just heaps of sleep b4 hte fest and heaps after :)

4 hours a night is good....i try for 6 cos im usually an 8 hour slumberer...
but it is often hard with

BOOMBOOMTICKATICKAWEEEWEEEWEEEWOMWOMWOM

reverberating through the starry night....

also, im often working or doing something that requires some semblance if brain/body coordination so sleep is even more important

oh oh oh im getting excited now....

funniest exp. last year when we were in 'the crystal tent' chilling for a bit and my mates saw people smoking so they decided to light up, only to get MAJORLY shunned by this dude from over the other side who came over. tobacco disrespectful to the chakras blahblah. kicked out!
other rugs were fine for some reason, earlier we'd even been smoking joints with some other guy who put the central display together (and who was going on about how he could tell what everyone was on by looking at them and doing impressions and stuff haha)

Booklets available from usual stores that stock beat, Inpress etc
Definitely at Ministry of Style and many other places on Brunswick St.

Dingo: No set times - expect them after NY. Imagine there are a few headaches trying to squeeze all the talent into just 4 days!!

Ilupa: Gates open Midday Thursday so no probs getting the van in after that.

This year they are enforcing NO GLASS, so think about alternatives (warm vb cans FTL...)
Also trying new recycling incentives which is good to see.

Stencil workshop sounds cool Kitty - will swing by if my chakras are aligned!

this is a good thing imo. glass unnecessary and dangerous on the dfloor. it was kinda the rule last year but they were slack about it. and even though most people were responsible and put it in/next to the bins, a couple of my mates almost stepped on some glass

slabs of heineken (proper stuff, imported) or stella from danmurphys @ $45 ftw!

years gone by i've been slack about the glass thing........i didn't even realise til this year that glass is BANNED in the festival area, meaning the only place you were allowed to possess it was out in the paddock

only glass i'll be bringing this time round'll be a bottle of tanqeuray, strictly for campsite g&t's

the irony in that is that quite a few cultures used tobbacco for purifying and rituals. As offerrings etc.

maybe not stvyie lights, but you know, its no fucking different!

i take spirits in bottles then pour mixed into plastic for dancefloor missions...warm beer = fail.

I went broke one year, all I had was a ticket, which I sold on the gate to raise funds

Hitched a ride back towards town and trekked in through the bush. About half an hour in I realised that all I had on me was $140, a pack of winnie blues and a can of tooheys red. TOOHEYS RED. I was fucked

Somehow, after traversing through many a private property and jumping the odd electric fence, I made it to the festival and walked in for free

do not try this

Late decision to attend, very excited. Never been before so can't bloody wait.

Bo - like the idea of the yurt... am going to try and persuade my crew we need one :)
