I believe it is pronounced 'bruck'.

Saw Dr Parnassus again last night, this time at the Moonlight Cinema. Bottle of Pepperjack shiraz, waaaay too much good stuff from the Vic markets smallgoods section, a beanbag and a fucking brilliant movie = absoulte W1N. Terry Gilliam is a genius. Totally breezes in to my Top 10 movies of all time without breaking a sweat.

I'm reading Don Quioxte at the moment and am so sad that everything went so pear-shaped on-set for him during production.

So did I. I loved Robert Downey jnr, always do actually, but found myself thinking of things I needed at the supermarket! It just didnt hold my interest for much of the film at all. :?

Tim Burtons movie 'Nine' was kinda cool. totally weird of cource and im dont know if I got the point, but it was an enjoyable watch all the same. :D
Agreed on the Sherlock front. Im glad i opted to download rather then hit the cinema - would have been well bored having to sit through it in the one sitting.

Nine was fantastic!!! Really enjoyed it :D Few scenes really hit me back with their graphic nature - some of those monsters were really dark!

First time you'd seen it??
You should see the previous movies in the series - just as funny, if not funnier. Slapstick-horror at its finest (or worst).... haha
Some of Raimi's best work imo.

GIVE ME SOME SUGAR, BABY!!!!!!!!!

Lol. The second evil dead was one of the first real horror films I ever watched and it scared the bjeesus out of me. Had to sleep with the lights on that night and was kinda traumatised by the tree scene. The next night my housemates rented this movie... I was scared, but it proved to be a comedy lolz. Rules over the modern gore porn weird shit like Hostel II or 'I am going to show explicit torture scenes in detail' wtf.

Chainsaws!!! Latex monsters!!! Dead By Dawn!!!

:D

recently watched:

Extract: disappointing, Mike Judge what the f*** was this poor excuse for a movie?

Tyson: Pretty interesting doco in the man's own words about his rise and subsequent fall from grace. Felt pretty bad for him after all he's been through but then, he was the one telling the story so it was probably a bit biased lol.

Saw Oprah having a cry about him and his struggle on telly the other day. Made me want to kick the screen in. He's a rapist thug and was instrumental in destroying boxing.

Yeah it was the first time i'd seen it. I have the Evil Dead trilogy so looking forward to that.

Not the biggest horror fan but Raimi's take on the genre is very entertaining.

Speaking of which....

saw "Drag me to hell" last night (fuck I have been watching a lot of movies of late). TBH I dont really get scared watching horror movies, usually they just seem silly rather than scary but fuck DMTH was one scary ride!

it was pretty good but not for the squeamish. :)

fantasy gore stuff is great when its done well. Also ultra-violence and all that sort of thing like Ichi the Killer is also good fun.

I dont like real violence but there's a kind of artistry to it on film.

And she's an Aussie

I also saw 'This is it' the other day and while I welcomed the fact that there were no closeups of MJ's face I got a bit bored by the end with too many horrible 'later period' Michael songs that no great choreography could save. However I was surprised that MJ was a lot more involved in the production than I thought he would be.

I would recommend the documentary Soul Power (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1277736/) for all lovers of seventies funk - you get to see James Brown, BB King, Bill Withers (and more) all in their prime playing at a soul concert in Zaire in 1974.

Ladyhawke is hotter. and although isn't in the movies right now, I would very much like her to co-star with me in a bioepic about my life.

Ah dude, your going to love the rest of the series!
Why'd you watch Army of Darkness first? You should've watched them in order!
And make sure you get onto 'Drag me to hell' - if your a fan of Raimi's slapstick horror, you should enjoy it. Altho not as good as the Evil dead series, it's still pretty good :)
