Dboy- best-case scenario: Gulf of Mexico is damaged, ecosystems could repair themselves within several generations (150-200 years). There will be local extinctions, and possibly even some complete extinctions of species. Ecosystem function will be massively compromised for decades to come.

Worst-case scenario: BP are unable to contain the oil (not looking too good at the moment tbh) and the entire aquifer empties into the ocean. Given the toxicity of petroleum hydrocarbons to most marine organisms, this will not have a good outcome even if the oil doesn't reach the shoreline of any continents.

The actual unravelling of events will sit somewhere between these two scenarios. I hope that damage is limited to the Gulf, but this seems less and less likely as the truth regarding the scale of this disaster emerges (the US army are considering using a nuclear bomb to seal the well head... that's how bad this situation is... ).
thats fucked!

Lolz Flippo! So glad she's turning the corner again! Guessing she puts her paws on either side of the bowl and inhales her food (literally and metaphorically) :P

yeah she has a ridiculous appetite. She flips the bowl over with her paws to check that no sauce has splashed underneath haha. Her brothers take 3-4 times longer to finish their bowls and she stands there stamping her feet, waiting for them to finial walk away so she can check that they didn't leave a few rice grains around the rim etc.

What is it with women who go apeshit with the eyebrow plucking thing???

I was in a meeting yesterday and I couldn't hear a word this woman was saying... I was completely hypnotised by her insanely thin eyebrows. They were also plucked in this sort of upside-down u-shape, giving her a permanently startled expression.

She looks like this (she has glasses too):

apparently it was a big thing to have really thin eyebrows. I think it was in the late 80s - early 90s. i asked my mum cos now she has to pencil hers to make them look fuller, and so does my boy's mum. lol generation thing

after walking againts the peak hour foot traffic on elizabeth street for a few weeks, i have come to the conclusion that most people are a bit of a cunt, also stupid. even with half a dozen cops in brightly coloured vests on each corner, poeple still j-walk in front of them and wonder why they cop a ticket.

GOTD - well it's not actually today it's sunday, sunday is just gonna be one hell after another all rolled into one for me.
I dunno what to do about it. It's starting to effect my work, customers are getting the better of me, spent half an hr crying today because some woman was rude to me and I had just had it. Can't sell anything.

I just want sunday to come and go, avoiding TV and most shops to avoid anything to do with it....

Randomly I've never been to IKEA! Ever in my life, that could be a sunday thing to do actually. No wait that's probably a bad idea.

As for the eyebrows thing I've noticed that, I'm lucky enough because of my genes if I acidentally pluck part of mine too much they just grow back but most womens don't.
I've never understood either having them making you look startled or having a really harsh point in them which just leaves people looking evil.
Mind you I can't find someone who does mine the way I like them in Melbourne so I've given up anyway.
The fridge is angry, the cheese told me so.

Watch out for the penguins, they are comming

sounds like it's been a farce.
people being turned away from polling stations, some even running out of ballots.
srsly. they can do better in the third world!
definitely looking like a worrying result though. europe's general swing to the right in recent years has been pretty dramatic.
