Re: The Big Up Thread
its going to be called T Squat and hasnt launched yet but here is a description.
T-squat is a trade blog (targeted on people who work in cafes, restaurants, clubs, bars) with a particular focus on the movement of underground art, music, design, events and fashion with a gentle New York theme to it. Basically, it's gonna be same vibe as Life Lounge but targeted at hospitality trade people. This blog will see hundreds of contributors from around the world (mainly Melbourne, Sydney, New York and Berlin) sharing insights, stories, photographs, artwork, events info etc.
T-squat is an online squat for artists, musicians, designers, producers and other creative units/people who 'get it'.

Re: The Big Up Thread
Big Ups MELT FEST! in Germany... was so awesome, heard some music that I knew would be shit hot (Carl Craig was the best set, Chris Cunningham VJ-DJ set, Modeselektor, Massive Attack, DJ Shadow, Kode 9 vs Martyn, Monika Kruse, Four Tet) plus saw so many new acts with new styles that really grabbed me, like Crookers, Moderat, Popof, Fake Blood, Slagsmålsklubben and Bonaparte.
The location was nothing short of amazing... it was next to a beautiful massive lake that you could swim in, and we did, there were these disused massive fuck off crane structures everywhere, it was truly surreal with all the lasers and lights all over them. There was a massive beach next to the lake where some of the coolest sets were.
The group of people I went with were awesome, about 20 of us in total, I was the only native english speaker, but all could speak real good english, was very different... but so cool. There were 5 French, 3 Swiss, 9 Germans, a Bulgarian and a Dane and me. Met one other Aussie over the 4 days there with over 30,000 people... but the Germans in general really know how to party... I suggest anyone planning a trip to Europe for next summer, to coincide it with this festival, I will be at the next one for sure
