Check out the UNIT in Shibuya-ku... is pretty fkn amazing venue, they have that kind of stuff every now and then...I saw a Low End Theory gig there last year with Nobody, Daddy Kev, Nocando, Free the Robots, Take and Tokimonsta...was off the hook. Also if your in Tokyo make sure to check the famous 5G vintage audio gear store...its rediculous! Im going again in June cant wait.

I4CS(sp?) is monthly at Womb and always has a steady flow of internationals other than that I'm fairly sure Club Asia in Shibuya has dubstep/dnb most weeks.

I found checking residentadvisor under the tokyo section was the easiest to find good music. Don't be too put off by the door prices it is definately worth it

even local nights seem to have high entry fees all over Japan, even in small towns. some bars have a cover charge too. Pretty much the norm.

I think the bars have a cover charge because they're so small, which means the owners/bartenders are interested in keeping your bum on a seat

If you've paid a cover charge you're less likely to just drop in for one drink, and more likely to sit there for hours drinking

Could be wrong, but that's the vibe I got in Golden Gai/Kabuki Cho

Still spewing I didn't hit any proper rave when in jappers, but I'll be back

edit- went to some raucous little bars in nagasaki, no cover charge and mad service. drunk times :tard:

I found broken beat culture in Tokyo to be pretty undeveloped to be honest

definitely check Goth-trad & his Back to Chill nights at Club Asia. They were the highlight

He's in a two-piece band called Rebel Famillia (I think that's the name, from memory). They are AWESOME!!! Like heavy jungle

Yeah, we really liked it there... the people who ran the hostel/BnB we stayed at were super nice... the dude chased us down the street to the mall/station on his scooter to give me back a piece of paper that I'd written my train times on, I'd left it in the foyer. Over and above the call of duty imo.

One night (the spew night) me and my missus walked in drunk as... the people at the counter were lol'ing at us hard, Nomisugimasu! they didn't realise I could understand them ahha

Wow, never heard of Gunkanjima... looks mad, wish I'd known about it back then!
