I want to play a set

Post by Recorded Syntax »

Hey all,

Not sure whether I should post this here or in the newbies thread, but I just want to see if anyone can recommend a way to go about getting a first show. I've got a bunch of beats (all originals) and want to start playing live, just not sure where to start. I'm located in melbourne by the way.

Cheers. [*]

Open decks... bring ya friends, become a regular etc etc.

That's what I did anyway. Then, put on your own night and book all the people that you want to play with or get to know.

Try starting up your own night. It's a great way to give yourself exposure, and gives you the outlet to play what you want.
Most smaller type venues will welcome smaller krews running their own nights, and a majority of the time you can get the venue for free.
It's also a great way to meet other DJs and people in the industry.

Hope it helps mate :)
