Dubstep producer WANTED for collaborative project
Hey I'm looking for some one to collaborate with in the dubstep genre.
I'm looking for someone who is keen on the idea of playing whatever is produced live in clubs and etc, so dedication and enthusiasm is a must.
I need someone who is very skilled at their DAW and someone who has a grasp of writing ideas/music as well as programming virtual instruments and overall good mixing skills.
I haven't been producing for too long (6 months) and i feel i work better as a collaborative project.
Heres a few demos of some unfinished stuff, all of it is mixed on headphones and still well in the works, so dont let that phase you too much

Yeah man you want to be layering some sub under those modulated synth sounds or making sure they have got an oscillator layered playing a lower frequency or pitch when you make them in the synth.

Maybe he can try out a heap of styles, then post them up for your approval.huge wrote:not that strange really tho is it.
Then he can proceed, one you've approved of his choice in genre.

agree. more people should do it that way.
He's climbing in your windows, he's snatching your people up.
Re: Dubstep producer WANTED for collaborative project
oh man this thread wins!!!
i wonder what sort of speakers you are making these on?
lack of sub is disappointing to say the least
the ideas sound alright though in terms of what you are probably aiming for

...or he really knows what he's doing, is preparing for commercial dub step sellout limelight, and is making Radio/TV edits...?
'Idea 2 new' has sub in it...
A more pressing issue is he's not written any baselines, there's no part in the tracks you could distinctly say is a baseline.

Wow I loled when I read the comments on this one, didn't expect such a negative response.....well heres my in my original description incase some of you missed the point...

I haven't been producing for too long (6 months) and i feel i work better as a collaborative project. (im shit at writing at dubstep by myself..obviously cause i sound just like Skrillex)
Heres a few demos of some unfinished stuff (not mixed, NO SUB BASS, not complete as a full track) all of it ismixed on headphones (cough** NO FUCKING SUB cough) and still well in the works, so don't let that phase you too much (oops looks like I already pissed off everyone *sad face* )

I get the whole sub thing "yeah theres NO SUB therefore there is no BASSLINE there for its not dubstep therefore im a SKRILLEX copycat wannabe sell out person guy douche bag or whatevers you said"
Yeah K so I was mixing on HEADPHONES = NO BASSSSSSSS OR SUBZZ for you lot so soz to all the wankers out there that actually have nothing better to do with their time but pick on crap like this.
So this is how I work, I make an idea and its an idea that is NOT a fully fleshed out track I.e, no sub bass, not a full written track, but just the idea of whats going on and where its possibly leading.
I feel that adding the sub bass last IMO, when im happy about the foundation and then commence AWESOME mixing session on monitors not headphones.
Anyway still looking for producers who are keen to collaborate and start something, if you are hit me up on rockojohno@hotmail.com
P.S
I personally don't mind Skrillex but i don't try to copy him. his music has got a shit load of energy that makes a lot of people go crazy. fucken good on him I couldn't care less.
But im not Skrillex and not trying to be like him...just here to make music I like.

Re: Dubstep producer WANTED for collaborative project
IT AIN'T NO FUN IF THE BASSLINE CAN'T HAVE SOME
Don't hate me for house
Re: Dubstep producer WANTED for collaborative project
the sub should be the foundation...
the rest is just fluff to make you not become bored or so...
seriously if you are trying to get your tune sounding right without sub... that is like, half the tune missing, so you will have to re-adjust EVERYTHING...
you can just SEE the sub... even just looking is enough ... also headphones can hear sub don't u know?
but yeh, just get your sub a decibel below your drums, or maybe a bit higher in the mix, but a good place to start, or was it drums are 1db below sub... *shrugs* whatever it is..
anyway, the sub and drums should be the foundation of the track... that is what holds the track together...
like someone said (editing this post, so no reference).. just add a pure sine underneath it all, maybe even just using the same notes as your mid-bass.. or just the lower notes of your mid-bass, to give the woofer a rest every now and then..
*shrugs* collabing is hard
