I know it's lame to start a thread without a really clear idea in mind but......
I reckon it's time hold a meet-up. I've been a member here for a few months now and just realised I don't know that many people here. If a good idea comes up them the mods can change the thread subject to a time/place thingy or we could start a new thread and close this one.
Anyway, a few ideas:
not at somebody's gig.
probably would be best during the week so more people can make it.
somewhere that serves beer (very important)
Somewhere with good music (so maybe we can gate crash someones gig after all).
Any more ideas? and,
Who's keen for organising something?
I'm pretty keen!!

Yeah, I was there last week... while some shit head (AKA Me) was playing breaks.
I reckon we should have a popper organised one though. I will organise, if I can get some support and ideas. Because there's gigs every week there's always gunna be a few MBers there. But most people will have there own gigs and wont bother because (and I know I think this way), it's on every week so I'll go next time.
I don't really want to meet any of you. Don't get me wrong, I think you're all fine folk, but It'll kill them imagery I have mentally painted.
Up until I met him, I thought Ag3nT[]0raNg3 was a voluptuous reheaded female who always wore tight rubber outfits and had a penchant for tying up men with leather belts and beating the living shit out of them with a length of grden hose. Yiou have no idea how fucking dissappointed I was when I learned the awful truth.
Everyone hear this: Hardy is one of the nicest guys I have ever met.......seriously. However quick is how he is
Ohh yeah back to the thread......yeah sounds good. Bunker sounds alright actually. Even tho I am not for one minute suggesting that SaMO is onto something.

Actually that's not true, there was a good handful but pretty much all of us already knew each other. And a great night was had too.
i would have come to that except it was on the other side of town and scheduled to start when i'm still at work...
if it's going to be in a week night evening it needs to be central for everyone to make it to and also late enough that people with office jobs can make it...
Special Hegg wrote:But yeah, let's have (another) one anyway. It's too damn cold for an outdoor thing, so maybe a pub... with meals... and reasonably decent music...

i can relate. before i met you, i had you figured as a six-foot-three pillar of bad-motherfuckerdom with a heart of gold and mild tourette's. it ruined it for me to find out the awful truth.
How about Ides Khokalat thurs night thing for a meet-up. it's a sweet venue and it's in town so nice and central. Plus the hours of 7-12 mean that most people could pop in.
Free to those that can afford it, very expensive to those that can't.

I reckon that sounds good
He's climbing in your windows, he's snatching your people up.

hahaha you two kill me, no really, i die inside just a little when i see you both...which is hard when i live with one of you
Anyhoo, meet ups are nice an all but goddamit! every time i meet someone the picture in my head is wrong. i really don't like being dissapointed that many times. it just hurts me
would it be better with a sit down meal at a pub somewhere though??? just my thoughts on the matter - if people prefer a club, then a club it shall be...
I been out getting my damn wisdom teeth removed and am writing from an internet cafe in Bendigo... I got 2 mins left so just a quickie but yeah, sounds good!!
Back Monday!

sure a lot of people work in the city - but a lot don't as well and it's automatically cutting all of them out which isn't really fair!
i think a pub meal is a heaps better idea than in a club... if people want they can move onto the club afterwards. but it's nice to be able to sit down and eat a meal together
I agree that not all are in the city, but when you think about it people will prob be coming from every direction, so when it comes to centralising it's the only spot that really makes any sense IMO

I think its more the weeknight factor that cuts out people away from the city than the location.
