Long time team turntable/vocal act, Scotrod and Direkt, aka the Enforcers, formally begin their partnership with a set of turntable tactics, effects processing wizardry, freestyle antics and beats to move ya’ body. With 4 years experience playing together, the boys have finally decided to name their project and take what they do to the rest of the scene. So join us in welcoming a truly unique, dance experience to Melbourne Town and let their epic stance on the breakbeat genre take you to new heights.
Sydney legend, Defcon-1, also drops in to do what he’s been doing for years, dissecting beats in a manner that makes his sets send shivers down the spine that lead straight to the nerves in your feet. See why he’s been a major player in that city to the north for so many years. Broken beats, yes. Funk fueled psychosis, always. Turntable tactics, obviously. All styles and all eras are there and he will force the Melbourne shuffle from you, be assured.
If that doesn’t do it for you, then we’ve also brought in the Joyriderz to knock you over the head with jams created to send you to the emergency room. The Joyriderz are a new name in Melbourne, but will not stay so for long. Their original tracks are usually twisted, morphed, fuised, bruised and elongated for ultimate, dance floor coercion. Not afraid to drop other people’s music in their sets and armed with enough live gear to make Tron sport a woodie, these boys are primed to let Melbourne in on their little secret they like to call “party ignitionâ€. Think tribal electro on the funky side of things and you’re half way there. Fractured is proud to be the first party to host their unique, live take on breaks and we’re sure you’ll agree with us that they have something special to offer.
As usual, we’ll be playing host to 2 rooms on the evening with Fractured’s finest on point to support the big boys. In the main room, Feigan and Hans-DC will be on hand to give you something to dance about, while Almax and company will be laying down a d’n’b/dancehall concoction along the side.
