For those of you unaware... tonight is the last set from all-round good guy, DJ Obliveus (OB1). Due to personal reasons, he will be stepping back from DJing and promotion responsibilities indefinately. :cry:

So please, come down and see the big man off tonight amongst his BW brethren @ Fractured! He has the opening set from what I'm told (10pm)....

My friends,
It truly warms my heart to jump on my favorite forum and peep the kind words and love.

Just so there's no mistaking the reasons for my sad scale down of gigs...

I'm not well!

For those that don't know, I had a pretty massive tumour taken out of my brain last year and it hasn't healed in the best of ways and scarring has occured. So most likely, I'll need to go in for another operation so they can insert an internal shunt. This will mean another recovery, which I'm not looking forward to. My goal is to have the operation in early December, so I can time my recovery with the summer (my time off from work--I'm a teacher) and not miss too much work.

Anyways, it sucks. So effective after this weekend, I've got to scale back the gigs and maximise rest for myself so I dont cause any more damage. So Sam (Lil Mis Breaks) will be taking over my Fractured duties, though I would still like to be involved in some way, because I love it!

I'd like to say that I'll be back, but honestly, I dont know at the moment. My family is my #1 concern, so they'll get all I have. But I love my extended beat family, too. So just keep yer eyes out and much love from me for all the great things you've said and all the great memories.

All the love and admiration shown on this thread shows that Big O is a truly special guy...... Not 2 many people would get an honest semi-farewell showing of respect like you big man!...
Obliveus was responsible for a lot of gigs i (and many other MCs/DJs) played when just starting out and it is going to tear a massive chunk out of the scene's heart not having him there with a big smile on his face....
A true allrounder your semi-retirment will b felt across the beats scene, so get well soon mu'fucker!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think i speak for everyone when i say our thoughts are with you and your family until you have made a full recovery (and then we don't care :wink: ). A special shout out will go to the Big-O at every set i play 4 sheezy :) ....

No doubt i'll c u round a fair bit OB, but parties just WONT be the same, know that dude..

And whilst you're in hospital...can someone please take some decks down to the ward and PLAY HIM SOME BREAKS?! I'm sure the other patients and nurses will really appreciate it :D Get well soon!
