at the weight thing. i used to get very defensive about people saying my dogs had put weight on.

Probably the best part was the hotel room I stayed in up at the Sunshine Coast.

For some reason they put me on the fourth floor instead of the second, like they did with everyone else including the GMs, editors etc. They all got bog standard single rooms.

Instead, I scored a spa suite with lush double bed, kitchenette, ensuite with spa bath, balcony. It was basically a really nice little unit. etc. Raided the mini bar to good effect.

Unfortunately my phone wasn't working and I made a couple of drunken, late night calls on the hotel phone. Not a mistake I'm going to make again anytime soon. I got the bill this morning - $75.

been wanting to see children of men for time. it opened in finland the day after i left for australia (january -- months after it'd finished there), and i never got around to amazonning it. one of my utterly rad friends got it for me though and sent it to me. awesome!
