Mate, face it, we're old.

By the time we have kids (God forbid), they'll be born with a soldering iron in their fingers, the umbilical cord will be attached to Google and they'll have an Apple stamp on their arse.

Fucking snap - and they look beautiful too.

Pity they didn't update the design of the iPod classic all that much. I don't really like the full metal design trend that Apple has embarked on lately.

wtf to do now? the Touch only has 8 or 16 gb of storage and a shorter battery life but has heaps of feaures whilst the Classic is massive, thinner than my current iPod and has up to 40 hours of audio playback!

I'm tempted towards the Archos 605 Wi-Fi. Comes in 30/60/160 GB. And yes it's a touchscreen.

That looks really cool. Would want to get the USB accessory so you can use it as a USB host.
I couldnt care about a touch screen tho.

Looks like Apple delivered on there promise of disabling unlocked Iphones with the new firmware update.

http://www.macworld.com/news/2007/09/27 ... /index.php

Bugger...I'll have to wait until the release in Australia next year...Either that or don't update the firmware. :)

yeah, have been feeling the same way.

the 'no service' indicator isn't a selling pitch. ditto the sync issues.

hrmm.

Yeah... took a photo, tried to send it to my MacBook via WiFi & Bluetooth... no love.

Tried to browse the iPhone with Bluetooth & WiFi, no love.

The only "Send" options were "E-mail, Desktop & Attach to Contact"

Pretty disheartening.

So has anyone got a touch iPod yet? Considering a purchase.
Yeah, I know, iPhone's better but I don't want to get locked into a new phone contract and you get all the hotness of the design.

So, thoughts?

Said it before, I'll say it again: Archos 605 or STFU. Up to 160GB, touchscreen, Wi-Fi. You can also buy the net browser plug-in and so forth if you want. Has a lot more going for it than either the iPod touch or classic, if you ask me.

Yeah, but I reckon 16gb will be enough for me. My entire collection is 20gb, and I don't plan to watch much video. What's divx support like anyway? Non-existent I'm guessing.
