Yep. You buy what you can afford in the end. My tastes have moved up the quality scale over the years. A good quality bag looks brand new for years. IMO peoples bags and shoes need to be clean and well looked after. Especially when you are in a client facing job and want to maker a good impression :D

True that. I've bought some awesome accessories via op shops and such as well though. Old school cases, leather gloves, clutches. You can get some very fetching stuff for el cheapo.

agree on the looking good part. I do spend more on clothes. But i dunno, i think of starving children over buying something that really you don't need to be spending that much money on.

i couldn't for expensive bags. i'm the same as you liz...i think the most expensive bag i've bought was a crumpler!
maybe i've just never had the cash to splash on exxy accessories, but i'd rather a nice piece of jewellery.

i'm trying to find a hat. little cap kinda thing. only one i've seen was in mimco, but they don't stock them anymore. :(

its ooooookayyyyy. I still feel way too girly, suburban and trying-to-be-normal,
and got all wistful when i saw photos of me with black long crazy hair last night...

BUT got told by a random on the train that my hair was 'so cool' this mornin, and its been growing on me...

post pics if you're keeping it or stfu foil fairy

guess we can all justify big money on certain things- i'll fork out for jeans, hoodies, bags, linen no drama at all becoz imo they're things i use most and get a lot of love of out

also no tightarse policy with dunny paper, tissues or coffee

My no-tightarse policy applies to all clothes. I don't buy many clothes, so when I do, I try to go for quality. I also try to get Oz designers like Claude Maus, natural fabrics like wool (prefer over cotton... too many pesticides used for cotton and shit fades too quickly) and no-sweatshop where possible.

Chocolate is also on my no-tightarse policy. Life is too short to eat crap chocolate.
I wanted to be a hero. I wanted to be the center of attention. I wanted the glory, I wanted the fame. I wanted the pretty girls to come up and say, "Hi, I see that you're good at Centipede."

i'm the same with clothes. don't buy much, but get quality stuff when i do. local designers ftw. faves are manque, belfin, kylie jane.

tend not to be a tight arse generally, but i guess it's been out of necessity that i've had to be a bit of a cheapo on some things. my friends on the other hand. they'd take out the stingey bitches award without question. i feel frivolous and indulgent in comparison. :?
